Former CFL quarterback Chris Streveler failed to replicate his preseason magic from a year ago as the New York Jets fell 21-6 to the Cleveland Browns during the NFL’s exhibition opener on Thursday night. Streveler took over the offence in the fourth quarter of the annual Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, completing just one of seven pass attempts for nine yards and rushing once for seven yards. Streveler was a last-minute addition to the Jets’ training camp in 2022 but captured national attention during the preseason, leading the team to three consecutive victories. The Jets elevated Streveler again a week later, though he did not take any snaps under centre. Streveler was especially effective during Winnipeg’s championship run in 2019, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown in the West Semi-Final before throwing a touchdown pass to Andrew Harris in the Grey Cup.

The word “caretaker” itself describes that this should be a transitional setup to facilitate the transfer of power from one elected government to the other by conducting free and fair elections with the help of an independent and powerful Election Commission. Unfortunately, we have a judiciary embroiled in political controversies, with a paid bureaucracy lacking credentials and not understanding the significance of the oath they take, which is loyalty to the constitution and not any individual. Circumstances demand that there be no more controversies or a repeat of incidents like May 9. However, rumours that a relative of a former PM, who is also the patron of a major political party and part of the current coalition PDM, is being considered for this position are shocking and hopefully not authentic news. A visibly neutral caretaker transitional setup must be put in place to hold free and fair elections, which are generally acceptable and, on the surface, not tainted to begin with.

That bluff of India to call itself the protector of democracy and human rights has earned it an international reputation and voice. - Advertisement -Policy of Bluff is a concept used by Hans J. Morgenthau in his book, Politics Among Nations, where he defines the policy of bluff as a tool for states to gain prestige and power. While the bluff is played at the international level by the Modi regime to be the protector of human rights, the story is parallel within India. The so-called protectors of human rights had been the cruellest human rights violators, with the atrocities carried out in IOK. This incident was one of the most brutal depictions of human rights violations with targeted killings, arson, looting, rape, and brutal torture.

The process can only start once the Council of Common Interests approves the census results for notification. This condemnation is not isolated but rather extends to other acts of violence that have recently plagued Pakistan. During a joint press conference, the Pakistan Ulema Council Chairman labeled the perpetrators of these heinous acts as criminals, unequivocally dissociating their actions from Islam and Muslims. The unanimous condemnation and consensus expressed by Ulema from various schools of thought is not only commendable but also encouraging. In a war that involves battling narratives, their unified voice plays a crucial role in countering extremist ideologies. Appreciating and highlighting this consensus is vital because it demonstrates the unity embedded within the Muslim community’s rejection of these acts of terrorism.
