September 15, (THEWILL) – Correspondent of The Guardian newspaper in Benue state, Comrade Joseph Wantu, died in the early hours of Tuesday, at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi. Joseph Wantu had a running battle with illness since November 2021, and has been in and out of hospital for medical attention. He was admitted to King Cross hospital, Makurdi, on Wednesday, but was discharged on Thursday evening. However, on Sunday, at about 8:00 pm, the hiccup ailment aggravated and he was rushed to Bishop Murray hospital where his case was referred to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital for better medical attention. Comrade Wantu who hails from Kwande local government area of Benue state left behind his wife, children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
