A non-profit organisation, Aweleka Social Club of Nigeria, has unveiled plans to organise an inaugural quiz and debate competition for secondary school students in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. About 60 public and private secondary school students will represent their schools in the competition, co-sponsored by the Ifedinma Social Club of Nigeria. There would be other individual awards and recognitions for outstanding students in various competition categories. The President of Aweleka Social Club of Nigeria, Tony Mordi, explained that the competition was a step further in the Club’s strategic contributions to the educational system in the town. Aweleka Social Club of Nigeria, founded in 2008, and Ifedinma Social Club of Nigeria, established in 1986, have a larger number of their members drawn from Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State.

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) has again threatened to shut down the national grid if the Federal Government failed to honour their demands soon. In a press conference in Kaduna on Thursday, the zonal organising secretary, North West of NUEE, Comrade Dukat Ayuba, noted that while the negotiation is still ongoing, but the shutting down of the national grid still hangs. The Better Education Service Delivery has re-integrated 98,000 out-of-school children into the formal education system in Adamawa State. Degereji added that the grant was used in transforming basic education service delivery of the state. The state was able to re-integrate a total of 98,000 out-of-school children into the formal education system. “This programme started in 2017 by design but the government of that time did not participate until 2019 when this state government now joined the other states. In the first year which is 2019/2020, we took 53,000 out-of-school children and enrolled them into the formal education system.”
