Manufacturing activities in the country contracted for a second consecutive month in a row in March as cash scarcity in Africa’s biggest economy hampered private sector activity. The drop in production consequently led to reduced sales as manufacturers navigated through headwinds occasioned by a shortage of cash. According to the latest edition of Stanbic IBTC Bank Nigeria PMI, which measures manufacturing activity in the country, Nigeria’s purchasing manager index for March reduced from 44.7 in February to 42.3 in March. The latest drop signals the second-deepest plunge since the survey started more than nine years ago. The contraction also meant that both staffing levels and purchasing activities fell.

Former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani has said the behaviour of supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is more peaceful than those who backed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011. This comes on the heels of a statement credited to Nigeria’s renowned writer, Prof Wole Soyinka who had described ‘Obidients’ as “fascists”. Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had also tagged Obidients as violent people following alleged verbal attacks on other presidential candidates. Reacting in a now-viral tweet, Sani disagreed with Soyinka’s use of “fascism” to describe the ‘OBIdeint Movement‘, adding that Obi’s supporters were more peaceful than Buhari’s supporters in the 2011 presidential election. “NO patriot should trigger or encourage anarchy; but we shouldn’t also ‘shorten our memories’, what Peter’s supporters are doing in 2023 is more peaceful than what Buhari’s supporters did in 2011.

A review of Daniel Ayodele Agbaje’s ‘Help for the Helpless: Understanding The Various Facets Of Child Abuse In Africa,’ by Folorunsho Moshood. The book, ‘Help for the Helpless,’ written by Daniel Ayodele Agbaje and published in 2022 by OAK Initiative, lends credence to this and provides succour to the crippling future.

I don’t know the meaning of “Gongoshu” and “Edidaare” but they must be abusive words and or uncomplimentary terms. In other words, your massive frame does not ooze out intelligence but is bereft of it; a big-for-nothing fool! ChukwumaSoludo’s one-year-in-office event at Awka, Anambra State on Saturday, 25th March, 2023, has made him the butt of cruel jokes.
