MONROVIA — Police in Toronto, Canada, have arrested 48-year-old, Hallie Ndorley, a Liberian in connection with robbery and counterfeiting. According to the police, during the arrest, officers located a large amount of Canadian cash, a large quantity of counterfeit currency, and black and white paper that police believe is used in currency scams. The police, therefore, sent out a warning the public about a “black money scam” after making an arrest in a robbery and fraud investigation and locating a large sum of counterfeit bills. Police said these scams are accomplished by giving the victim a large quantity of banknote-sized black or white pieces of paper. The fraudster then convinces the victim that if they buy a special solvent from them it will remove the dye on the paper and they will become real bills.

MONROVIA – FrontPageAfrica has seen documents suggesting that Senator Emmanuel Nuquay has been fined US$7,605 for power theft by the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC). FrontPageAfrica has not been able to independently verify the documents. However, the documents seen reveal that Sen. Nuquay’s lawyer signed an MOU with the LEC taking responsibility for the illegal use of power at his former residence in the Omega Community, Paynesville and at the same time committing himself to the payment of the fine. Senator Nuquay, according to the LEC, violated the Liberia Panel Law chapter 15, section 15.88 which calls for prosecution, punishment (fines), and imprisonment if found guilty and refuses to live up to the law. The Senator’s Omega estate was found to be illegally enjoined to the LEC power grid on December 14, 2022, however, the commitment to fine was signed on December 29, 2022.

On December 27, the People's Liberation Party issued a statement in Monrovia confirming that its political leader, Cassell, had passed away. According to him, medical professionals at a hospital pronounced Dr. Cassell dead after they attempted to resuscitate him but were unable to do so successfully.

The social and traditional media outlets early Monday morning were inundated by reports of the death of the political leader of the People’s Liberation Party, Dr. Daniel Cassell. Cassell, prior to his death, had been under house arrest following his arrest on March 17, by the US government for a litany of allegedly financial malpractices. He fell off the mountain on Sunday and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. My heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, family members, and the PLP. The group of Zogos took to the streets Saturday, moving into stores with cutlasses to harass individuals. One eyewitness said the group of Zogos gathered at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) to get their Christmas gifts. Angered by neglect, the Zogos took to the streets and resorted to harassing vendors and Christmas shoppers. She added: “So the people started to retaliate and two Zogos died, one on Ashmun Street and the other one died somewhere around Water Street.”
