The Sports Minister of Liberia D. Zeogar Wilson has warned former National Team players whom he described as, ‘’my colleagues’’ to take advantage of every coaching course that the LFA will organize if they want to be into the profession. ‘’Let it be clear that because you played for the National Team is not a guarantee that you get everything on silver-plater. ‘’Gone are those days where being former players, the LFA and other federations will bend the rules to accommodate any of you,’’ Minister Wilson strongly stressed. ‘’These days, CAF and FIFA have new rules and we all have to follow the rules. Others took upon their precious time and went through the former CAF training and so, I want to encourage them [my colleagues] to take advantage and build their capacity instead of complaining the LFA,’’ Minister Wilson emphasized.

However, the fact that governance in Liberia has become so rotten under this administration, to the point where our traditional allies must raise these concerns in the press, is a serious blow to our nation’s image. Liberia is quickly becoming a pariah state under the failed CDC government, turning away credible investors and partners. Another six years of a Weah administration would severely damage Liberia’s credibility in the international community and leave Liberians stuck in a cycle of poverty and suffering. My administration will get Liberia back on track by building functional systems to ensure a functioning public service. We will also implement an aggressive strategy to make Liberia an attractive investment destination for international investors that align with our long-term vision for real change in Liberia.

MONROVIA – It was a night of sheer accomplishment and celebration on Saturday when internationally celebrated Liberian journalist, Rodney D. Sieh launched his latest book, George Weah, The Story of Africa’s Footballer President – An Unofficial Biography on home soil in Monrovia. According to the author, and as evidenced by its title, President Weah did not officially approve his work. Pearl Brown Bull said Sieh’s book is an ‘unbiased and a bold venture’ that many of his peers would dare not to go. In this book, Rodney has documented the story of Africa’s first football president. Perhaps, a testament to Rodney’s account that President Weah refused to approve the project and that the President’s inner circle – most of whom are in government, declined to speak openly for fear of reprisal.

When President Weah did what he did for Liberia, whether it was on the National team or in the refugee camps, he did it knowing he would be President. I said that at the beginning of the 2020 elections, and I was speaking in Bong County. I was speaking purely to the incident as to who will be senator in Bong County. Somehow, Senator Johnson wants people to believe this was something said recently after the money was printed at the Central Bank.”“I wasn’t speaking about any national leadership. I haven’t seen President Weah pay for votes, I haven’t seen him truck people, so I know he knows I wasn’t speaking to him.”

With his involvement in the same rape case, this may be difficult for his friend because the police will think that is their attitude. Experts ViewAccording to civil society experts, the constant involvement of Liberian men in rape cases in foreign countries is the result of Liberian society normalizing sexual assault and not seeing it as a crime or violation. She said the issue of rape in Liberian society has not been fully addressed due to systemic failure. “Family should step aside whenever there is a rape case and allow justice to be served. This is a terribly dystopian view by people hell-bent on creating this false narrative that, as regards October 2023 presidential election – Liberians face a binary choice – an either-or situation. Mr. Boakai openly and regularly admits to having squandered Liberia’s opportunities – including just a few months ago on his favorite talk show, The Class Reloaded. Talking about Mr. Boakai and Mr. Weah squandering opportunities? To date, Mr. Boakai has never acknowledged nor addressed his role in this economic carnage against the Liberian people. Recently, Mr. Boakai appeared on a Liberian online talk show, The Class Reloaded” to clarify what he meant by “squandering opportunities”.

By Gerald C. Koinyeneh, [email protected]Although Rep. Kogar denied the allegation, he admitted that he is only assisting the natives of his district residing outside to go back home and register. The lawmaker, he claimed, has failed to exercise his major responsibilities, making the district to be among the remotest parts of Nimba. He said: “I have the right under the law as a lawmaker to go anywhere that I want to go. Rep. Kogar currently serves as chairman of the opposition People’s Unification Party (PUP).
