Kiptum’s world record was ratified by World Athletics just days before his death. Olympian Eliud Kipchoge said he was deeply saddened by the passing of the marathon world record holder and rising star. “I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn the passing of Kelvin Kiptum and his coach Gervais Hakizimana.

"We have increased the Prize Money of the AFCON Winner to USD 7,000,000 (Sh1.1 billion) which is a 40 per cent increase from the previous AFCON Prize Money." New Delhi: India Inc has pitched for simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections , once every five years, to avoid disruptions and additional costs.Industry bodies Ficci and CII have made separate presentations to the committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind. While Ficci is firm in its demand for a single election every five years for Union, state and local governments, CII too has backed the idea, while proposing elections every two-and-a-half years as an alternative plan.“Our ease of doing business is getting significantly constrained by multiple elections at various times at various levels.With multiple codes of conduct for these elections, the inevitable slowdown in decision making by govt hurts business and industry badly. “If no group can claim majority, then mid-term elections should take place only for the remaining term,” Ficci has suggested.The lobby group cited a report by Niti Aayog to argue that in 2014, the model code of conduct resulted in suspension of governance and development activities for nearly seven months. “Private sector is reluctant to invest months before and after the elections. “Simultaneous elections can reduce the overall expenditure incurred on general as well as state legislatures, making it more cost-effective and at the same time there are less days of productive work that are lost due to multiple elections,” CII said.

Kang’ethe was being held over the murder of his girlfriend Margaret Mbitu that took place in the United States of America (USA). “It is true that the lawyer was picked up by officers attached to DCI Nairobi Region in connection with the Muthaiga escape. An officer attached to Muthaiga Police Station told the Nation Sunday that the lawyer was allowed to speak to Kinyanjui. “A day before the suspect escaped from the station, the lawyer was there and they talked for some time,” the officer said.

In 2021, the retail price of cement recorded in Lagos and Ogun states ranged between ₦3,300 and ₦3,500.
