While Biden’s administration is committed to funding Kenya’s mission in Haiti, this has been met with resistance from Republicans. Kenya’s declaration comes after the signing of a bilateral agreement between Kenya and Haiti, raising hopes of a rapid response to the chaos that has settled in Port-au-Prince.

London – Officers arrested a man who crashed a car into the gates of London's Buckingham Palace over the weekend, police said on Sunday. The Metropolitan Police said the car "collided with the gates" of the royal residence at 02:30 (GMT) on Saturday. Armed officers arrested the man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and he was taken to hospital, a spokesperson for the force said. In the lead-up to King Charles III's coronation last May, a man was arrested for throwing shotgun cartridges into the grounds of Buckingham Palace. The same month, a 43-year-old man was arrested for ramming his car into the gates that guard Downing Street, home of British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

The campaign led with OOH activations, but the media strategy, led by PHD’s bespoke agency for PepsiCo, Trio, saw it roll out across print, display, publisher partnerships, an influencer program and social signs. The B&T team loved that this campaign led with bold OOH executions and its fun tone of voice.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said the nationwide war on illicit brews, drugs and substance abuse is unstoppable and the Government will not give in despite fightbacks from merchants of death disguised as entrepreneurs. “Illicit brews are killing our children. That is why the Government issued tough directives against Illicit brews, drugs and substance abuse. There is no pride in leading people who cannot work, and without dignity” the Deputy President said. Mr Gachagua also said eradication of the illicit alcohol menace and drugs will lead to a productive nation, with people living in dignity.

Whatever Haiti’s political class determines as the way forward for a transition, multinational security support will be available to support the police and other institutions to establish order for a free and democratic election. PM Henry’s government, for more than a year, has been appealing for an international security force to help. Few nations are willing to step in to help Haiti, and the UN has said it would only provide oversight for the mission when it materialises. There will also be a need to do capacity building for the Haiti security forces because the goal is long-term peace and stability. But the officers can be a force for good in Haiti, and we should support their mission.
