It is not the first time that sex tapes involving civil servants have been leaked on social media. Nicknamed "Bello" on account of his good looks, Ebang Engonga is a married father and the son of Baltasar Engonga Edjo, the current Chairman of the Commission of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community. The flow of internet traffic, and in particular the downloading of images, has been severely disrupted in the country after the authorities took measures to curb the sex tapes' spread, witnesses told AFP. Social media is awash with speculation that more videos involving other individuals, both men and women, could be released in the next few days.

Crime sceneTwo mechanics at a garage in Ruai area, Nairobi were attacked and killed over claims of siphoning fuel from vehicles at the facility in Ruai, Nairobi. The two were employees at the facility and were Monday afternoon accused of siphoning fuel from cars parked there in order ro sell, police said. This prompted some of the workers there to raise an alarm, which led to the attack on the two. A team of police visited the scene and found two lifeless bodies inside the garage with visible multiple injuries inflicted by blunt objects. Police said the suspects would have arrested and surrendered the two to authorities for processing.

The High Court in Eldoret has jailed two convicts for 35 years for the murder of 3,000m steeplechase athlete Benjamin Kiplagat. Justice Reuben Nyakundi said the two Peter Ushuru, 30, and the rider David Ekai, 25, planned and committed the offence. Earlier, the mother of the athlete had caused a commotion at the court as she asked the judge to pass the death sentence against his killers. She was giving her final pre-sentencing views before justice Reuben Nyakundi before he delivered judgement against the two found guilty of murder. Justice Reuben Nyakundi ruled that both scientific and circumstantial evidence by the prosecution had linked the two to the murder.
