This event not only celebrated the monarch’s birthday but also highlighted the enduring relationship between the United Kingdom and Kenya. The King’s Birthday Party is a global celebration held by British High Commissions around the world. Although King Charles III’s birthday falls on 14 November, his official birthday is marked on the second Saturday of June with the King’s Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour, in London. This year’s celebration was particularly significant as it marked the High Commissioner’s first King’s Birthday Party in Nairobi. Last year, King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla made a state visit to Kenya from 31 October to 3 November 2023.
