Nowhere in the world like it – academy chiefs celebrate Man Utd pipelineBy Simon Peach, PA Chief Football WriterManchester United academy chiefs Nick Cox and Travis Binnion believe a bright future lies ahead at a club where youth development is unlike anywhere else in the world. From Duncan Edwards, Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best to Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo, United have reaped the rewards of their focus on youth development. I think we’ve got good players, we’ve got good coaches, good staff. “But the pride is also in the fact that I think youth development means something more at Man United than it does at any other football club. There’s nowhere else in the world like it for youth development, I don’t think.”Those sentiments are echoed by Binnion, United’s head of player development and coaching.

The good news is that the number of road accidents is down 30% from a decade earlier. Perhaps the reason Goa roads are so unsafe stems from how they drive, not how much. This tells us that the absence of vehicular density is where road accidents are happening in the state. According to official data, 91% of all violations leading to road accidents were due to overspeeding. When considering all the evidence, it is clear that Goa’s road safety record is neither a result of mere chance nor broader industry-wide trends.

Just as the call of the cuckoo signals the beginning of summer, the filling of potholes is always a sign that an election is imminent. No longer do I have to struggle around potholes like a fellow steering a tractor through a field of zigzagging ruts. Anyhow, while I welcome the 'election' tar, I do have a bone to pick with regards to the election poster. Personally, I have nothing against those seeking election, their job is difficult enough. The desecration of the election poster, for amusement purposes, like the corncrake of yesteryear, is but a distant memory.

The average insurance fraud was worth £15,000 in 2023, with insurers detecting £1.1billion of fake claims, according to the Association of British Insurers. The earliest cases saw fraudsters make fake insurance claims using photos they found online. Although home and motor insurance sees the most image fraud, other areas of insurance are prone to it too. Verisk has developed clever technology that can help insurers spot this sort of digital image manipulation. It also monitors the metadata of photos - the underlying data that explains how and where a photo has been made.

“First of all, these latest announcements are nothing new: there’s already 140 countries that have gone out and unilaterally recognised the Palestinian state. I look forward to a state solution, I think there should be a Palestinian state but it’s only going to come with direct negotiations. Let’s not forget a bit of history here, which is that we tried to create a Palestinian state in the 90s. Mr Harris said the Palestinian state would be formally recognised next Tuesday and he suggested there should be statements in the Dáil on the issue. The goal is to achieve a Palestinian state that is politically cohesive, and that derives from the Palestinian Authority, he said.
