मुंबई-पुणे एक्सप्रेसवे पर 33 घंटे बाद यातायात बहाल; पलटा हुआ गैस टैंकर हटाया गयामुंबई-पुणे एक्सप्रेसवे के मुंबई की ओर जाने वाले मार्ग पर यातायात बुधवार देर रात को बहाल हो गया। अधिकारियों ने यह जानकारी देते हुए बताया कि पहाड़ी खंडाला घाट खंड में एक गैस टैंकर के पलटने के 33 घंटे बाद मार्ग पर यातायात बहाल हो पाया। महाराष्ट्र राज्य सड़क विकास निगम (एमएसआरडीसी) के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि अत्यधिक ज्वलनशील प्रोपलीन गैस ले जा रहे टैंकर को घाट खंड में अदोशी सुरंग के पास दुर्घटनास्थल से हटा दिया गया जिससे मुंबई की ओर जाने वाले मार्ग पर देर रात एक बजकर 46 मिनट पर यातायात फिर से शुरू हो सका। मुंबई-पुणे एक्सप्रेसवे भारत का पहला छह-लेन का प्रवेश नियंत्रित टोल एक्सप्रेसवे है। 94.5 किलोमीटर लंबा यह एक्सप्रेसवे मुंबई, रायगढ़ और नवी मुंबई को पुणे से जोड़ता है। टैंकर मंगलवार शाम करीब पांच बजे मुंबई की ओर जाने वाले मार्ग पर पलट गया जिससे भारी यातायात जाम लग गया और व्यस्त एक्सप्रेसवे पर हजारों वाहन घंटों तक फंसे रहे। जाम इतना भीषण था कि वाहनों की करीब 20 किलोमीटर तक लंबी कतार लग गई। इस यातायात संकट के दौरान महिलाओं और बच्चों सहित यात्रियों को भोजन, पानी और शौचालय की सुविधा नहीं मिल पाई। एमएसआरडीसी के अधिकारी ने बताया कि बुधवार देर रात पलटे हुए टैंकर से प्रोपलीन गैस को सुरक्षित रूप से अन्य टैंकरों में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया और दुर्घटनाग्रस्त वाहन को क्रेनों की मदद से हटा दिया गया।

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested Javad Ahmad Siddiqui, chairman of the Al Falah University, following two FIRs registered on a complaint by the University Grants Commission (UGC) after the Delhi Blast, an official said. The action came after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had initiated proceedings in the matter. The Crime Branch registered the cases over alleged irregularities and forgery related to the functioning of the private university after the blast near the Red Fort. T'PURAM: In a setback to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Unnikrishnan Potty, the prime accused in the Sabarimala gold theft incidents, was on Tuesday granted bail in the second case by the Kollam Vigilance Court. Earlier, the court had granted him bail in the dwarapalaka idols case as well on similar grounds. Potty was the first person to be arrested in the sensational case and is expected to walk out of prison later today. Former Sabarimala administrative officer Murari Babu, former Sabarimala executive officer Sudeesh Kumar, and former administrative officer S Sreekumar had secured bail earlier. Potty is accused of conspiring to execute the pilferage of gold from Sabarimala artefacts under the pretext of carrying out maintenance works in Chennai.

State-run aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has said that five Tejas light combat aircraft are fully ready for delivery to the Indian Air Force, even as delays continue in the broader induction schedule due to issues in engine supply. Deliveries of the jets have faced repeated delays, largely due to GE Aerospace missing multiple timelines for the supply of aero engines required to power the aircraft. “The HAL confirms that five aircraft are fully ready for delivery, incorporating major contracted capabilities in accordance with the agreed specifications,” a spokesperson for the aerospace major said. Tejas is a single-engine multi-role fighter aircraft developed for operations in high-threat air environments. The supply position from GE is positive, and the future delivery outlook aligns with HAL's delivery plans,” the spokesperson said.
