A 25-year-old man lost his life after his motorcycle plunged into a 15-feet-deep pit dug on a road in west Delhi’s Janakpuri, with police finding that no safety measures were in place at the site. According to the FIR registered by Delhi police, there was no barricading, warning signage or security guard deployed near the pit, which had been dug by the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and its contractor for sewer-related work on Professor Joginder Singh Marg near the Andhra School. ADVERTISEMENT“There was no barricading, no warning sign or security guard deployed at the site despite the pit being dug in the middle of the road,” the FIR said. “The inspection of the scene clearly suggests that the pit was left open without any protective measures, posing a serious risk to commuters,” the FIR said. Eight persons were arrested in Maheshtala, South 24-Parganas, early on Friday on charges of duping US citizens posing as members of a software company’s technical support team and siphoning funds from their bank accounts, police said. According to officers, the siphoned money was transferred through multiple foreign accounts before being transferred to India. “As a part of their modus operandi, the callers would convince their targets to download a screen-sharing app,” said the officer. The fact that the siphoned money was transferred through foreign accounts proves so. Fraudsters usually use mule accounts in India to transfer the siphoned money.

Washington on Friday (February 6, 2026) accused China of conducting secret nuclear explosive tests, and of preparing for more tests with massive yields, in what it said violated an international test ban. “Today, I can reveal that the U.S. government is aware that China has conducted nuclear explosive tests, including preparing for tests with designated yields in the hundreds of tonnes,” Thomas DiNanno, U.S. under secretary of state for arms control, told the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva. “China conducted one such yield-producing nuclear test on June 22 of 2020,” he said. Mr. Trump said on October 31 that Washington would start testing nuclear weapons “on an equal basis” with Moscow and Beijing, but without elaborating or explaining what kind of nuclear testing he wanted to resume. Mr. DiNanno on Friday (February 6, 2026) maintained that the People’s Liberation Army in China had “sought to conceal testing by obfuscating the nuclear explosions because it recognised these tests violate test ban commitments”.

New Delhi also rejected Pakistan’s claims of foreign involvement, calling the allegations baseless. Democrats say the probe is being weaponised to attack political opponents of President Donald Trump, himself a longtime Epstein associate who has not been called to testify rather than to conduct legitimate oversight. The Justice Department last week released the latest cache of so-called Epstein files — more than three million documents, photos and videos related to its investigation into Epstein, who died from while in custody in 2019. Bill Clinton features regularly in the files, but no evidence has come to light implicating either Clinton in criminal activity. Hillary Clinton, who ran against Mr. Trump for President in 2016, said she had no meaningful interactions with Epstein, never flew on his plane and never visited his island.
