A barrage of Russian drones and missiles on Ukraine overnight killed at least four people in cities across the country, including a 10-year-old boy, regional officials said on Monday (February 9, 2026). The Ukrainian air force said Russia had launched 11 ballistic missiles and 149 drones -- including Iranian-designed Shaheds -- at the country from Sunday (February 8) evening into the early hours of Monday (February 9). Air defence units downed more than one hundred drones and several of the missiles, they added without elaborating. Local officials in the city said that a 35-year-old man was killed and that two more were wounded, including a 19-year-old woman. भास्कर न्यूज, पुणे। येरवडा पुलिस थाने के लॉकअप से फरार हुए दुष्कर्म आरोपी शैलेश राजू मोहिते (19) को पुलिस ने महज तीन घंटे के भीतर दोबारा गिरफ्तार कर लिया। आरोपी नाबालिग से दुष्कर्म के मामले में पोक्सो कानून के तहत गिरफ्तार था और पुलिस हिरासत में रखा गया था।पुलिस के अनुसार, रविवार 8 फरवरी की शाम लगभग साढ़े सात बजे आरोपी ने लॉकअप में बिछाने के लिए चादर की मांग की। इसी दौरान उसने पुलिसकर्मियों का ध्यान भटकाया और शौचालय में चला गया। वहां खिड़की के कांच को सरकाकर वह नीचे उतरा और फरार हो गया।घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही थाने में हड़कंप मच गया। वरिष्ठ पुलिस निरीक्षक अंजुम बागवान के मार्गदर्शन में तत्काल विशेष जांच टीम गठित की गई। टीम ने सीसीटीवी फुटेज की जांच की, स्थानीय मुखबिरों को सक्रिय किया और येरवडा परिसर में सघन तलाशी अभियान चलाया।लगातार प्रयासों के बाद रात करीब दस बजे आरोपी को येरवडा इलाके से ही गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। फिलहाल आरोपी को कड़ी निगरानी में रखा गया है।इस संबंध में पुलिस उपनिरीक्षक किशोर बेरड ने येरवडा पुलिस थाने में शिकायत दर्ज कराई है। वहीं, लॉकअप से आरोपी के फरार होने की घटना को लेकर भी अलग से जांच शुरू कर दी गई है। मामले की आगे की जांच पुलिस उपनिरीक्षक महेश फटांगरे कर रहे हैं।

CHANDIGARH: A 19-year-old woman, a first-year student at a private law college in Tarn Taran district, was allegedly shot dead by her classmate inside a classroom on Monday. The assailant, identified as 20-year-old Prince Raj, subsequently turned the weapon on himself and is reported to be in critical condition. According to police, the victim, Sandeep Kaur, a resident of Naushehra Pannuan, died on the spot. Prince Raj, a resident of Mallian village, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains under medical supervision. CCTV footage from the classroom reportedly shows Prince Raj, Sandeep Kaur, and another student seated together.

A girl student was shot shot dead by her classmate in a law college at Tarn Taran district. The assailant, identified as 20-year-old Prince Raj, subsequently shot himself. The agreement on reciprocal tariff between Bangladesh and the United States was signed on Monday. On the Bangladesh side, the signatories were commerce adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin and national security adviser Khalilur Rahman, and on US side ambassador Jamieson Greer, US tade representative. The US will further reduce reciprocal tariff to 19 per cent, which was originally set at 37 per cent and later reduced to 20 percent in August last year. In addition, the US committed to establishing a mechanism for certain textile and apparel goods from Bangladesh using US produced cotton and man-made fiber to receive zero reciprocal tariff in US market. Present during the signing were Commerce Secretary of Bangladesh Mahbubur Rahman and Assistant US trade Representative Mr Brendan Lynch.
