Artificial intelligence startup Simile has raised $100 million in a new funding round to develop a model to predict human behaviour, including guessing which items customers might buy and which questions could be asked on earnings calls, according to a report by Bloomberg. Prominent AI personalities such as Fei-Fei Li and Andrej Karpathy also participated in the funding round. According to the report, Simile surfaced from stealth this week after having spent the past seven months developing an AI model trained on interviews with hundreds of real people about their lives. Simile also thinks its technology can help companies better prepare for questions analysts might ask on earnings calls and predict how a particular corporate announcement may be received by analysing prior calls and research. We are now developing a foundation model that predicts human behaviour in any situation, at any scale,” the company website says, highlighting the scope of its work.

भास्कर न्यूज, पिंपरी-चिंचवड। निगड़ी से महालुंगे एमआईडीसी की ओर जा रही पुणे महानगर परिवहन महामंडल लिमिटेड (पीएमपीएमएल) की एक बस में शुक्रवार को चाकण औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में अचानक आग लग गई। यह घटना महिंद्रा कंपनी के सामने हुई। प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार शॉर्ट सर्किट के कारण आग लगने की आशंका जताई जा रही है। कुछ ही मिनटों में आग ने विकराल रूप धारण कर लिया और पूरी बस जलकर खाक हो गई।प्राप्त जानकारी के मुताबिक, यह बस कामगारों के लिए विशेष फेरी के रूप में चलाई जा रही थी। घटना के समय बस में करीब 50 यात्री सवार थे। बस से धुआं निकलता देख चालक और परिचालक ने सूझबूझ दिखाते हुए तुरंत बस रोक दी और सभी यात्रियों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल लिया। उनकी सतर्कता के कारण बड़ा हादसा टल गया और किसी प्रकार की जनहानि नहीं हुई।प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के अनुसार बस के अगले हिस्से से अचानक धुआं उठने लगा और देखते ही देखते आग की लपटों ने पूरी बस को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया। प्राथमिक जानकारी के अनुसार बस इलेक्ट्रिक थी, जिससे शॉर्ट सर्किट की आशंका जताई जा रही है। हालांकि आग लगने के वास्तविक कारणों का खुलासा जांच के बाद ही हो सकेगा।घटना की सूचना मिलते ही दमकल विभाग की गाड़ियां मौके पर पहुंचीं और आग पर काबू पाने का प्रयास किया। लेकिन तब तक बस पूरी तरह जल चुकी थी। आग की घटना से कुछ समय के लिए इलाके में अफरा-तफरी का माहौल बन गया। औद्योगिक क्षेत्र में कामगारों की आवाजाही अधिक होने के कारण यातायात भी प्रभावित हुआ।फिलहाल संबंधित विभाग द्वारा मामले की जांच की जा रही है। यात्रियों की सुरक्षा को ध्यान में रखते हुए पीएमपीएमएल की बसों की तकनीकी जांच कराने की मांग उठ रही है। इस घटना में भले ही कोई जनहानि नहीं हुई हो, लेकिन बस के पूरी तरह जल जाने से बड़ा आर्थिक नुकसान हुआ है।

RANCHI: The menace of wild elephant attacks continues in Jharkhand as six more people were trampled to death by a herd of elephants at Gondwar village under Churchu Block in Hazaribagh early in the morning on Friday. Suraj Ram, Savita Devi, Anurag Ram, and Sanjana Kumari belong to the same family. According to villagers the elephants are roaming in the area, posing a constant threat to their lives and property. Notably, a herd of elephants have been roaming in the area for a month.
