A Porkodi, general secretary of the party and the wife of the slain leader, was also present. Addressing the media, Rasa said that several accused persons in the murder case obtained bail after the state government got a stay on the Madras High Court’s directions to transfer the case to the CBI. “It is only because of the state government that the accused got bail in the case. Further, he dismissed the state government’s distribution of Rs 5,000 to nearly 1.3 crore women as “an election strategy”.

Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) in Annamayya district filed a Geographical Indication (GI) application for the region’s distinctive jamun variety, Allaneredu Pandu. MITS Vice-Chancellor C. Yuvaraj via a press release said the application was prepared with support from the MITS Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre and submitted to the Geographical Indications Registry. He said the fruit was known for its deep purple colour, balanced sweet-sour taste, nutritional richness and medicinal value, shaped by local agro-climatic conditions. GI protection would prevent misuse, ensure better prices for farmers and enhance domestic and export market prospects while strengthening regional branding and farmer livelihoods sustainably, he added.

DUBAI: Iran's top diplomat was traveling from Tehran on Sunday to Geneva where the second round of nuclear negotiations with the U.S. will take place, Iranian state media reported. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his delegation left for the Swiss city after the first round of indirect talks took place in Oman last week. Oman will mediate the talks in Geneva, the IRNA state-run news agency reported on its Telegram channel. Similar talks last year broke down after Israel launched what became a 12-day war on Iran, that included the U.S. bombing Iranian nuclear sites. Trump has also threatened Iran over its deadly crackdown on recent nationwide protests.
