नईदुनिया प्रतिनिधि, इंदौर। पश्चिम क्षेत्र की यातायात समस्या के समाधान की दिशा में नगर निगम को बड़ी सफलता मिली है। राज्य शासन ने चंदन नगर से कालानी नगर को जोड़ने वाली सड़क को अंतिम मंजूरी दे दी है। यह सड़क 18 मीटर (60 फीट) चौड़ी बनेगी। इसके बनने से एयरपोर्ट रोड पर यातायात का दबाव कम करने में मदद मिलेगी।करीब 20 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से तैयार होने वाली इस सड़क के चौड़ीकरण में 350 मकान सीधे-सीधे प्रभावित होंगे। इनमें से करीब 100 मकान ऐसे हैं जो शत प्रतिशत टूटेंगे, जबकि शेष का कुछ हिस्सा इस चौड़ीकरण की भेंट चढ़ेगा। चूंकि नगर निगम इस सड़क के लिए टेंडर और वर्क आर्डर पहले ही जारी कर चुका है इसलिए काम शुरू करने में अड़चन नहीं आएगी।लंबे समय से हो रही है चौड़ीकरण की मांग चंदन नगर से कालानी नगर की बनने वाली यह सड़क वर्तमान में कहीं 20 तो कहीं 30 फीट चौड़ी है। इस सड़क के चौड़ीकरण की मांग लंबे समय से हो रही है। महापौर परिषद की सहमति के बाद नगर निगम ने चौड़ीकरण के लिए सर्वे का काम पूरा करने के बाद बाधक मकानों पर निशान भी लगा लिया था, लेकिन इस सड़क को मास्टर प्लान में शामिल करने के प्रयास में काम अटका हुआ था, अब गजट नोटिफिकेशन होने के बाद यह बाधा दूर हो गई है। यह भी जानें 18 मीटर चौड़ी नई सड़क पश्चिमी क्षेत्र के लिए अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है।20 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनेगी। इस राशि की व्यवस्था मास्टर प्लान की सड़कों के लिए केंद्र से मिली राशि से होगा।सड़क के लिए टेंडर और वर्क ऑर्डर पहले ही जारी हो चुके हैं, इसलिए काम शुरू करने में परेशानी नहीं आएगी। पश्चिमी क्षेत्र के लिए इसलिए है महत्वपूर्ण यह सड़क पश्चिमी इंदौर के लिए सीधा, तेज और भीड़ भाड़ से मुक्त मार्ग प्रदान करेगी।एयरपोर्ट रोड के कालानी नगर चौराहा से धार रोड के चंदन नगर चौराहा तक यह नया कारिडोर ट्रैफिक लोड वितरित करेगा और पश्चिमी रिंग रोड का वैकल्पिक मार्ग बनेगा।इसके अलावा नंदन नगर और नगीन नगर के पास करीब 800 मीटर सड़क को भी मास्टर प्लान में शामिल किया गया है, जिससे इन आबादी वाले इलाकों में भी यातायात सुगम हो सकेगा। ये हैं निर्माण में चुनौतियां इस सड़क की चौड़ाई कम करने की मांग उठ रही है। नगर निगम के सर्वे के दौरान भी रहवासियों ने जोरदार विरोध किया था। रहवासियों का कहना है कि सड़क की चौड़ाई 40 या 50 फीट कर दी जाए तो ज्यादातर मकानों को टूटने से बचाया जा सकता है। इधर निगम का कहना है कि मास्टर प्लान के हिसाब से सड़क की चौड़ाई कम से कम 18 मीटर अनिवार्य है। सड़क चौड़ीकरण में सर्वे के हिसाब से 350 बाधक मकान हैं। इनमें से कई ऐसे हैं जो पूरे टूटेंगे।

India's power generation capacity addition from all energy sources has crossed record the 50 GW-mark during April-January period in the ongoing fiscal year, according to an official statement.This marks the highest-ever capacity addition in a single year, surpassing the previous record of 34,054 MW achieved during 2024-25, the power ministry said in a statement.During the current financial year 2025-26 (up to January 31), a record 52,537 MW of generation capacity (from all sources) was added, it said.Of this, 39,657 MW has been added from renewable energy sources, which includes 34,955 MW of solar power, 4,613 MW of wind power.Further, this also implies that during 2025-26 (upto 31.1.2026), there was an addition of more than 11% to the total installed capacity of the country.As on January 31, 2026, India's total installed power generation capacity stands at 520,510.95 MW, comprising fossil fuel-based capacity of 248,541.62 MW; non-fossil fuel capacity of 271,969.33 MW; nuclear power of 8,780 MW, and renewable energy sources of 263,189.33 MW.>

The government is going to launch the second round of financial support to start-ups with a ₹10,000 crore fund of funds to mobile venture capital and back tech-driven innovative manufacturing start-ups, deep tech and early-growth stage enterprises. This was the second part of the fund of funds (FoF) scheme under the Start-up India initiative. The first was established in 2016 when the government constituted a FoF worth ₹10,000 crore to provide seed capital. ADVERTISEMENTFollowing the successful utilisation of the first tranche, a second phase of ₹10,000 crore was sanctioned in the Union Budget for 2025-26. The statement said it has been designed to address high-risk capital gaps and strengthen India’s domestic venture capital base, particularly smaller funds.

As part of his continuing assault on science, U.S. President Donald Trump revoked a foundational guideline of the American environment regulator that allowed it to control the transportation sector’s emission of greenhouse gases. The ‘endangerment finding’ emerged after the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2007 decision, in Massachusetts vs EPA, which held that greenhouse gases qualify as “air pollutants” and required the EPA to determine whether they endanger public health or welfare. The EPA’s action had a seismic impact on the American automotive industry, setting in motion the first federal greenhouse gas standards, set in 2010, for cars and light trucks (2012-16), later extended through 2025. The real danger lies in automakers in India citing such regulation as a pretext to weaken fuel efficiency standards. Although India’s standards do not yet connect climate goals with cars, the domestic automotive sector should view them as a lodestar.

India has added 52,537 megawatts (MW) of electricity generation from all sources combined in the ongoing financial year until January 31, the Union Ministry of Power said on Sunday (February 15, 2026). Of the total generation capacity added in the ongoing financial year, 39,657 MW consist of that from renewable energy sources. This is inclusive of 34,955 MW centred on solar power and 4,613 MW on wind power. With the addition, as on end of January, according to the ministry, India commands a total power generation capacity of 5,20, 510.95 MW. Generation capacity centred on renewable sources represent about 50.5% of the overall capacity at 263,189.33 MW, whilst nuclear commands approximately 1.6% at 8,780 MW.
