Microsoft founder Bill Gates is scheduled to visit Andhra Pradesh on Monday, where he will hold discussions with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on strengthening collaboration in healthcare and artificial intelligence initiatives. Gates will arrive at the state secretariat in the morning and briefly meet CM Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The Chief Minister has urged Gates to scale up the ongoing health programmes across Andhra Pradesh, and the discussions are also expected to centre on AI-driven interventions, Narayana said. After the meeting, Gates will visit the Real Time Governance System (RTGS) centre to review the application of technology in public administration. Gates had earlier visited the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh twice, and this visit comes after an invitation extended by CM Naidu to deepen collaboration with the state government, the minister added.

A Christian family was allegedly not allowed to bury a dead 13-year-old boy at the burial ground on Saturday amid prevailing tensions over a demand for the relocation of a church-cum-prayer hall at Kapena, a tribal-majority village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district. Kapena native Krutibas Santa, who is from the Christian community, lost his son following a prolonged illness early on Saturday morning. However, other residents of the village later blocked access to the burial ground and prevented the family from performing the last rites there. Krutibas had to sign a declaration that no religious symbol would be placed on the gravestone and that peace and order would be maintained in the village.
