According to him, the government is hopeful the alleviation programme will help cushion Ghanaians as the nation fights against the COVID-19 pandemic. Out of this amount, two hundred and eighty million cedis (GH¢280 million) is being used to provide food for the vulnerable and free water for all Ghanaians for three (3) months, i.e. April, May and June, three hundred and twenty-three million cedis (GH¢323 million) is being used to motivate our health workers, and six hundred million cedis (GH¢600 million) of assistance is being provided to micro, small and medium-scale businesses. I expect disbursements of the six hundred million cedis to start in May',' he said.

A cement shop attendant, Rukaya Rufai, confirmed that there is a shortage of cement in Bolgatanga, which has led to an increase in price. She observed that business was always slow during the rainy season, but takes a positive turn during the months of February and March.

Following Ghana’s independence in 1957, the development of nursing gradually began to shift amid a dynamic change. Prior to this, all senior nurses in the Gold Coast were composed of White colonial women, but how did the profession actually gain roots in the country? In January of 1945, Isobel Hutton arrived from Britain to the Gold Coast to start a nursing school which was associated with that of the British nursing system, with focus on training nurses for the Ghanaian environment. A training school named the State Registered Nurses (SRN) was quickly established upon Hutton’s arrival and was situated at Kumasi. Though there’s not much significance in terms of their outfit, there still remains a startling semblance between how Ghanaian nurses looked in the 1960's and how they look today in 2021.

The renewed efforts include the enforcement of the ban on mining on water bodies across the country. This was announced by Water and Sanitation Minister, Cecilia Abena Dapaah at the start of a national tour of water bodies. The delegation first visited the Sekyere Hemang water treatment plant that supplies water to large parts of the Central Region before heading to examine the Daboase water treatment plant that supplies water to parts of the Western and Central Regions. She disclosed that the government is embarking on several water projects but the intake points of these water bodies have been compromised by activities of illegal miners stressing that as a result, the government has tasked Regional Security Councils to move in and help clamp down on illegal mining in these areas.

The High Court had ruled that the original documents of the pink sheets should be presented to the candidate for inspection but the EC failed to heed the directive and instead provided photocopies. The EC, according to reports, arrived at the court on Monday, April 19, an hour late to file the original documents. The opposition NDC in arriving at the court, came along with a power generator and a photocopier to assess the documents. This is because there was nearly a power outage while the EC was filing its documents but the NDC was able to assess the documents.

The report also recommends greater commitment towards the implementation of collective outcomes through joint analysis, mapping and planning by all the actors in peace missions,” Major Ofori said.

Earlier, it had been reported that some of the Coronavirus vaccines had gone waste in the Northern Region, while there remains quite a number of people who are yet to be vaccinated. All regions were able to use it except for the 480 doses that could not be used in the Northern Region and the 100 doses in the Oti Region. Some of 480 vials containing the coronavirus vaccines were reported to have gone bad due to the limited timeframe as at the close of the first phase of the vaccination exercise. So we had three clear days to the six months date,” Hilarious Abiwu, the Director in charge of Public Health, explained. A low turnout of health workers also contributed to the extension of the days for the vaccination in the region.
