The supplier, according to a JoyNews report, was contracted by Ghana’s Ministry of Health with a Ghanaian company serving as the intermediary to deliver the vaccines in batches, thus, one million doses each month until the fifth month. Verden Gang (VG) in its report said Ghana has signed the purchase contract for 3.4 million doses of the vaccine after it received an initial 16,000 doses from two businessmen on March 3, 2021. They announce that they have reached an agreement regarding the purchase of 3.4 million vaccine doses. On his part, Dr Nana Ayew Afriyie, Chairman of Parliamentary Health Committee said, the government has not been swindled in the deal to procure the Sputnik-V vaccine.

Kwame Sango pleaded guilty and was sentenced on his plea. The court heard that about three weeks ago, the complainant woke up at about 0530 hours and detected the theft of his Techno mobile phone valued at GHC700.00. The prosecutor said police investigations established that the said phone was stolen from the pocket of the complainant. He said the case was initially reported to the Security Unit of the Mpasatia Community Mine Site, which commenced an internal investigation into the issue. The prosecutor said during interrogation Sango admitted to stealing the phone and was, therefore, sent to the Nkawie police station.

He said drivers should also obey the road signs and directions on the road to prevent them from crashing into other vehicles on the road. He called on heavy truck drivers to desist from overloading their vehicles since it could weigh the vehicle and could be bait for accidents on the road. DCOP Ayiih said, road safety is a collective effort and drivers must obey the police when they are stopped on the road since it is part of the duties of the police to ensure safety on the road.

According to a rainbowradio report, the robbers who were embarking on their operation asked the motor rider transporting the pregnant woman to the hospital to park. Though the pregnant woman pleaded for mercy, the robbers were unperturbed about her condition as they went on with their operation. Commuters who fell prey to this shivered in their bones as the robbers attacked them at a gun point. They demanded monies, phones and other valuables be handed over to them or lose their lives. The robbery incident, which took place near the Paga lorry station, was perpetrated by two gunmen on a motorcycle who arrived at the booth of the agent at about 6:50 pm. Mr. Kwoviam said to ensure his safety, he yielded to their orders and handed a bag containing his money to the robbers. He continued that one of the clients who however made an attempt to get away with his money was shot in the head. He said the injured persons were transported to the Paga district hospital and later to the regional hospital in Bolgatanga, but the one who was shot in the head was pronounced dead shortly after.
