The police said the driver of the supposed vehicle who returned the rifle alleged that the inspector also had extorted money from him. In a release dated January 28, 2023, it said the interdicted officer has been referred to its appropriate quarters for investigation. “The interdicted officer, Inspector Sulemana Adam, stationed with the Rapid Deployment Force, Takoradi in the Western Region has been referred to the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to allow for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident." It added that both the driver and the Inspector are assisting with investigation.

On Wednesday, January 26, a gang was alleged to have killed a 30-year-old man popularly known as 'Candy' at Krofrom. Meanwhile, the police in the area have so far arrested two of the gang members to assist with investigations. The waakye was bought at a joint at Oyibi Bush Canteen Junction in Greater Accra. Aside from the five dead people, over 30 persons have been affected and rushed to the Valley View Hospital, Oyibi Hospital, Dodowa Hospital, and other facilities after they complained of severe stomach ache, which include the waakye seller. The affected individuals are said to have eaten the Waakye last Friday at a popular joint called Yellow Sisi. She added that it was after they heard that others were affected and sent to a different hospital after eating from the joint.

Kwame Governs Agbodza has been appointed the Chief Whip for the opposition side in parliament and will be deputised by Banda Member of Parliament, Ahmed Ibrahim, and Ada legislator, Comfort Doyo Ghansah respectively. Kwame Agbodza replaces the Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka. He obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture from the University of Westminster, a Diploma in Architecture from the University of East London,a B.S.C. Kwame Governs Agbodza has been the Managing Director of SouthWorld Technical Services from 1999 till date, the C.E.O of Architect Co Partners since 2010 as well as the C.E.O of Kay and Partners since 2012 to date. Kwame Agbodza is currently the Ranking Member on the Roads and Transport committee and is also a member of the Science, Environment and Technology Committee of Parliament.
