In an October 23, 2021 post on his Facebook wall, Kweku Baako gave comprehensive information about the project which has become the subject of divisive discourse following President Akufo-Addo interview on Peace FM. He dared critics to provide evidence to support their claim that the Akufo-Addo government has abandoned the project. The Aflao E-block is one a number of projects embarked by the then Mahama government in 2015. The project has become topical after President Akufo-Addo made some comment which has been viewed by critics as disrespectful to the Paramount chief of Aflao who lamented the delay in operationalization of the school.

The Dancehall King was kept in the cells for two days before he was arraigned before the Accra Circuit court where he was remanded for one week. Shatta Wale is on record to have shouted that he wanted to be in prison for months or years if that will help fight doom prophets in the country. However, a video has emerged on social media of the day he reported himself to the Police at the Greater Accra Regional Police Headquarters. The musician in the video looked worried and upset amidst insulting and cheers from other inmates who were shocked to see the Dancehall King reduced to their level. They kept shouting his name whiles others kept raining insults on him on the night.

He added that the project could be completed before the February date that the chief appealed that it be opened for use. He stressed that at best, Torgbui had appealed to government especially because he most likely knew the issues and that was why he raised concerns. Meanwhile, deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Otokunor, has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to hand over power if he is frustrated by the dissatisfaction of his rule.

According to the police, the suspect gave up chasing his family members when they fired a warning shot upon their arrival at the scene, leading him to remove the magazine and dropping the weapon he was wielding to the ground. This comes after one of the two victims who reportedly fell from the second-tier section of the four-tier interchange died on the spot when the incident occurred. The second victim, however, was rushed to the Ga North Municipal Hospital after sustaining injuries from the accident but has been confirmed dead on Monday, October 11, 2021. The external Operations Officer of Zhonmei Engineering Group Limited, the firm responsible for the construction of the interchange, says he witnessed the two on an unregistered motorbike speeding from the Awoshie section of the interchange. Desmond Yaw Hodanu Bedi who attributes the cause of the accident to overspeeding suspects the victims were high on some substance.

Four of the victims were rescued in time while the remaining were declared missing. Two more bodies have since been retrieved on Sunday according to a police report. “The lifeless bodies of two of the victims of the drowning incident; namely Isaac Kattey, aged 25, and ‘Holy’, aged 23, were retrieved from the Offin River at New Achiase,” portions of the report state. According to the police report, the bodies which were found and retrieved in a bloated and totally decomposed condition have since been buried, owing to the state of decomposition. It is not yet known what may have caused the canoe to capsize.

Rainbowradioonline.com reports that Desco, who is a palm wine tapper, allegedly lured his friend into a bush on Friday, October 8, 2021, and killed him. “I lured my friend into the bush and unknown to him, I stabbed him from the back. He fell down and I repeated it till he gave up his ghost,” the suspect confessed when he was arrested. This man however survived the attack and has been on admission at the Ankaase Hospital but the suspect is said to have been unhappy with this news. As a way of exacting the full measure of his action, Desco is reported to have gone on to stab the second son of his second victim, an act he confessed to when he was eventually arrested.

Kalefe Korku, 42, Afedo Kpotor, 21, and Ametoke Sitsofe, 27, were arrested after they reportedly contacted a fetish priest at Agbozume, seeking leads on where they could sell the corpse, according citinewsroom.com. “The buyer agreed to meet the suspect at Agavedzi near the lagoon to receive the dead body. But suspects upon sighting the police abandoned the dead body and bolted,” the police statement said. The three suspects were subsequently pursued and arrested separately at Agavedzi, Agbozume, and Adina, the police said. Investigations are underway and the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue for autopsy.
