CAIRO – 17 November 2023: Israeli media reports said, Monday that the prevailing opinions in Israel are leaning towards extending the truce agreement. The channel quoted Israeli sources saying that there is a tendency to accept an extension of the truce, after consulting with regional and international parties. The "humanitarian truce", which was reached between Hamas and Israel through Egyptian-Qatari mediation, is scheduled to end on Tuesday morning. Hence, the truce deal provided the release of 50 civilian Israelis in exchange for 150 Palestinians. On the first day of the truce, Hamas released 24 in exchange for 39.

The extended truce includes a daily release of 10 detainees in Gaza, women and children, in exchange for 30 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, making the total of those released in the two days of the extended truce, 20 Israelis versus 60 Palestinians. Rashwan added that it is expected today to exchange 11 Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip, and negotiations are underway to release 33 Palestinians from the Israeli side. The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has called on the banking sector to take part in the presidential initiative Decent Life. The Decent Life initiative – the National Project for the Development of the Egyptian Countryside – is a comprehensive and integrated initiative, launched by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in 2019. The initiative aims to improve the living conditions and daily life of Egyptian citizens, within a framework of integration and unity of efforts among the state institutions, private sector entities, civil society, and development partners in Egypt. The initiative also aims to provide a holistic package of services, covering various aspects of health, social and living conditions. It is a huge shared responsibility among these different parties to provide a decent life to Egyptian citizens, especially vulnerable groups.

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has issued new regulations for credit information and rating companies. The companies must also maintain a record of shareholders holding more than 5% of the capital or voting rights and update it regularly. The companies must also pay an annual regulatory fee of EGP 100,000 to the CBE in January each year. Services and fees: The companies must provide accurate, reliable, and timely credit information and rating services to their clients, in accordance with the CBE’s standards and guidelines. Supervision and inspection: The CBE will conduct periodic on-site inspections of the companies to assess their compliance with the law and the regulations.
