Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El-Sayed El-Kosayer received a report from Mustafa Al-Sayyad — Deputy Minister for Livestock, Fish, and Poultry Resources — on the ministry’s efforts to follow up on the release of feed requirements in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). Al-Sayyad said that during the past week, 196,000 tonnes of corn and soybeans, worth $88m were released, including 158,000 tonnes of corn with about $57m and 38,000 tonnes of soybeans worth about $27m, along with feed additives with about $4m. Thus, the total that was released over the past four weeks is 756,000 tonnes, including 532,000 tonnes of corn, 224,000 tonnes of soybeans, and feed additives worth $370m. He pointed out that the release aims to provide the markets with quantities of corn and soy, which are the main ingredients for poultry feed as well as farm animals. He also stressed that the agriculture ministry continues to coordinate with the CBE and the Poultry Federation to periodically release corn, soybeans, raw materials, and feed additives from Egyptian ports.
