The proceeds of this tender will be used to pay off a previous tender that was offered on 7 June 2022, through which the Central Bank obtained $565.1m. The Central Bank had received 23 bids worth $1.076bn to cover a similar tender that it put out on 1 May at a value of $1bn. According to Central Bank data, on its website, the bank accepted 20 bids at a value of $1.0076bn, with interest ranging between 4.899% as the lowest price, 4.9% as the highest price, and 4.9% as the average. The Central Bank allows local and foreign institutions to subscribe to those bills, with a minimum subscription of $100,000 and its multiples.

The Minister previously stated that the plan for FY23/24 will allocate directs investments amounting to about LE 100.7 billion for the manufacturing sector - both petroleum and non-petroleum.

Attijariwafa bank Egypt achieved a net profit of EGP 434.5m during the first quarter (1Q) of 2023, compared to EGP 176.3m in 1Q 2022, an increase of EGP 258.2m, a growth rate of 146%. CAIRO – 3 June 2023: The Egyptian General Meteorological Authority (EGM), one of the bodies affiliated with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, won a seat in the Executive Council of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) for a four-year period from 2023 to 2027. The elections were held at the 19th session of the Geneva-based World Meteorological Congress, with the participation of 163 countries. This came during the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO-IMO), as well as with the launch of the International Early Warning for All initiative, which aims to preserve lives and property from the dangers of climate change. One member of the security forces tasked with securing the international border line breached the security barrier and exchanged fire as he was pursuing drug smugglers, the spokesman said. During the fire exchange, three of the Israeli security forces were killed and two others were injured, the spokesman said, adding that the Egyptian soldier was also killed. "Search, inspection and security measures are being taken in the zone," the spokesman said, affirming that legal measures are also being taken with regard to the incident. Abdel-Hafez extended condolences to the deaths and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
