Hong Kong CNN — An explosion at a chemical plant in Southeast China on Saturday sent huge billows of thick black smoke into the air. The blast took place at a plant owned by the silicon oil production company Jiangxi QianTai New Materials at around noon in the city of Guixi, Jiangxi province, according to Chinese state media outlet CCTV. Footage posted on Weibo by CCTV and People’s Daily, another Chinese state media outlet, showed a huge plume of black smoke billowing into the air and emergency services attending to the scene. Initial reports suggest that the explosion occurred after silicon oil caught fire, according to CCTV. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire that led to the explosion.

The number of visitors to Giza Zoo rose to 250,000 from Wednesday to Saturday, the fourth day of Eid al-Adha, the Agriculture Ministry announced. The turnout of visitors from various governorates to Giza Zoo doubled in spite of high weather temperatures. Ragai told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Saturday, that the animal museum at the zoo witnessed a high turnout during the fourth day of Eid, in addition to the Royal Mountain. Visitors also enjoyed riding the trackless train, one of the more distinctive entertainment features of the Giza Zoo, and paddle boats in the lakes region, which witnessed a great turnout during the fourth day of Eid al-Adha, he said. The Giza Zoo features a diverse collection of wildlife, encompassing over 4,000 species of animals, including more than 3,000 species of birds and 369 species of reptiles, Ragai said, with the rest being a variety of mammals.

He praised the efforts made by the Egyptian government in infrastructure and national projects, foremost of which is the Administrative Capital, which is only about ten kilometers from the International Medical City project. Fouad recently participated in the campaign “Egyptian Investors Abroad Answer: Why do we invest in Egypt?”, launched by the Ministry of Immigration to promote investment in Egypt and communicate with investors outside Egypt. The campaign features short videos in which Egyptian experts abroad give a brief presentation and testimony on investment in Egypt, she said.

The management of Sharm El-Sheikh International Theater Festival for Youth (SITFY) -chaired by director Mazen El-Gharabawy- released the poster of the eighth edition, scheduled to take place in November, 2023 in Sharm El-Sheikh. Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC) has hosted the first serious action towards regulating the real estate marketing sector as a step towards organizing and pushing property export by receiving experts from Innovation Experts Real Estate Institute in Dubai to give the first training course of its kind in Egypt to real estate marketers. The event was held under the auspices of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) company, and was organized by TSM Mall Management. CAIRO – 30 June 2023: On the 10th anniversary of June 30th Revolution, head of the Egyptian National Council for Women (NCW) headed by Maya Morsy reviewed the achievements fulfilled by the Egyptian state in women’s empowerment since the revolution in 2014. “Today, Egyptian women are rising as leaders, advisor to the president, Governors, judges, prosecutors, policy- makers and change-makers, their voices resonating across all corridors of power with no discrimination. Pilgrims must be present eight hours before the departure time of the flight, the statement noted. The Hajj ritual ends with the celebration of Eid Al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifices), is the most significant feast for Muslims worldwide. The Adha honors the day when Prophet Ibrahim -peace be upon him- was ordered to sacrifice his son, Ismael, and because of his obedience, God substituted Ismael with a ram, and this day has become a feast for Muslims since that day.

CAIRO – 29 June 2023: Egypt's Ambassador to Brussels Badr Abdel Aty met with European Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarcic to discuss the issue of migrant flow into Egypt and the commission's role in providing them with humanitarian and developmental support. According to the statement released Thursday, Ambassador Abdel Aty underscored that Egypt hosts nine million migrants. On his side, the European commissioner expressed appreciation to the efforts deployed by Egypt to host large numbers of Sudanese refugees, lauding the Ministry of Health and the Egyptian Red Crescent in particular. That is in addition to the results of the Seventh Brussels Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region. Ambassador Abdel Aty pointed out that Egypt had provided Syria with 1,500 tons of aid in the aftermath of the deadly earthquake that hit the country earlier this year.

CAIRO - 28 June 2023: Civil defense forces on Wednesday recovered a tenth body from the rubble of a building that collapsed in Alexandria on Monday. The search is still on for more victims under the collapsed 14-storey building. Four people, including a paramedic, were injured in the vicinity of the building that is located on Khalil Hamada Street in Montazah neighborhood. Ten ambulances were deployed to the area, which is now cordoned off to prevent passers-by from approaching the scene.

This comes at the time the state celebrates the 10th anniversary of June 30, at the Air Force Mosque. President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday exchanged greetings with the Arab and Islamic states' kings, presidents and emirs on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

CAIRO – 28 June 2023: The Ministry of Defense and Military Production posted on its official Youtube channel Wednesday a video report on achievements accomplished in the sectors of housing, transport, and tourism over the past decade since June 30 Revolution. The ministry pointed out that slum areas have almost been eliminated so as 1.2 million fully-furnished alternative-housing units were granted to families evacuated. In a related context, a number of programmes were targeted at thousands of citizens who live below poverty line. New cities were built to meet the staggering demand on residential units engendered by overpopulation. The most key ones of those are the New Administrative Capital, New Ismailiyah, New Aswan, New Mansoura, and others in Upper Egypt.

Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar permanently banned smoking in all Egyptian health facilities – those providing treatment, preventive or rehabilitative services – and any bodies affiliated to the Ministry of Health. The move aims to preserve the health and safety of citizens from the dangers of smoking. Abdel Ghaffar said that the decision to ban smoking also comes to implement the provisions of Law #154 of 2007, which was amended by some provisions of Law #52 of 1982. These laws govern the prevention of smoking harms, and includes a final ban on smoking of all kinds within various health and educational facilities, government agencies, clubs, social centers, youth centers and others. The director in charge of these facilities is committed to taking the necessary measures to prevent smoking within these facilities as per the decision.
