Jamaat-e-Islami believes the neutrality of Chief Advisor (CA) Muhammad Yunus has been compromised by a "joint statement" issued following his meeting with BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in London, reports bdnews24.com. Jamaat also says the chief advisor has shown a particular inclination toward a single party through the meeting, which has "damaged his impartiality". The BNP has been demanding the national election be held by December over the past several months. Three days before the chief advisor's speech, Jamaat held a press conference, outlining its expectations in relation to the election timeline. On that day, party chief Shafiqur said his party wanted the general election to be held within April 2024, preceded by local government elections.
