Award-winning and 'gutsy' veteran journalist Genevieve Westcott dies aged 65

Genevieve Westcott, an award-winning and “gutsy” journalist, has died aged 65. During her reporting career, Westcott worked for TV3’s 60 Minutes, 20/20 and A Current Affair programmes. Newshub said she was remembered as a “gutsy” journalist, the “queen of the door knock" and a pioneering broadcaster. Former 60 Minutes reporter Paula Penfold, now with Stuff Circuit, said Westcott’s style left a lasting impact for New Zealand journalism. “What I admired about her was she brought a whole new style to New Zealand journalism,” Penfold said.
