The share of state sector investment in the overall economy also dropped significantly, from 44 percent in 2010 to just 27.6 percent in 2024. Naval Ship 016 – Quang Trung of Brigade 162, Naval Region 4, left Cam Ranh Port on February 23 for Sydney to join the International Fleet Review commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Royal Australian Navy and the multilateral Kakadu naval exercise 2026. During its stay in Australia, Ship 016 – Quang Trung and accompanying delegations will take part in the International Fleet Review and Kakadu 2026 activities, including port-phase events such as the opening ceremony, naval leadership conferences, planning meetings for sea phases, alongside training, sports and cultural exchanges, local heritage visits, and onboard receptions. Kakadu, hosted by Australia since 1993, is a biennial multilateral naval exercise. This will be the second participation by a Vietnamese naval vessel, following Ship 18 of Brigade 171, Naval Region 2, which joined Kakadu 2024 in Darwin - the first-ever appearance by the Vietnam People’s Navy at the exercise. With its participation in Kakadu 2026 in Sydney, Ship 016 – Quang Trung is set to complete the longest voyage in the history of the Vietnam People’s Navy, sailing more than 11,000 nautical miles over roughly 60 days./.

Ho Chi Minh City welcomed an estimated 4.32 million visitors, up 35%, with tourism revenue reaching about 12.15 trillion VND (nearly 490 million USD), a rise of 42.9%. Ninh Binh received more than 2.37 million visitors, surging 81.38%, with tourism revenue estimated at 2.451 trillion VND, up 52.3%. Hanoi welcomed around 1.34 million visitors, up 36.3%, generating 4.87 trillion VND in tourism revenue, an increase of 40.2%. Da Nang, one of the most attractive destinations in the central region, served about 1.1 million visitors, up 27%, with tourism revenue estimated at 3.96 trillion VND. In many localities, tourism revenue rose faster than visitor numbers, indicating higher spending and improved service quality.

After a year without issuing new shares to boost capital, VPBank relinquished its position as the largest bank by charter capital to Vietcombank. The top four banks – Vietcombank, MB, VPBank and VietinBank – together hold more charter capital than the combined total of the bottom 10 banks. Many commercial banks have already outlined plans to further increase charter capital in 2026, including some that raised capital in 2025.
