For Vietnamese exporters to the EU, it means there would be strong incentives to invest in ESG to enjoy low tariffs and easy access to the market, they added. Việt Nam committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2050 at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2021. Experts have said the path to green growth is not easy considering the low awareness of environmental protection in the business community.

HÀ NỘI — The Anti-Dumping Commission of Australia (ADC) has proposed not imposing anti-dumping duties on ammonium nitrate products originating from Lithuania and Việt Nam, announced the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Remedies Authority. Earlier, the commission reported that ammonium nitrate products were to be subject to dumping during the investigation period from April 1, 2021 - March 31, 2022. According to the Trade Remedies Authority of Việt Nam, ammonium nitrate products imported from Lithuania and Việt Nam account for approximately 0.8 per cent and 0.2 per cent of the total market share in Australia, respectively. Previously, the case was initiated by the ADC on June 8, 2022, involving Chile, Lithuania, and Việt Nam. In August 2022, the agency announced the termination of the investigation into Chile as the country did not export ammonium nitrate during the investigation period.

HÀ NỘI — Downgrading COVID-19 from a Group-A infectious disease (very dangerous infectious disease) to Group B (dangerous infectious disease) will usher in a number of changes to the country's health sector. Underlining Vietnam’s efforts and achievements in nuclear safeguards, he affirmed that the country always supports IAEA’s role and values technical cooperation programmes, particularly ongoing ones between Vietnam and the IAEA such as the ZODIAC programme and the trilateral project among Vietnam, Laos/Cambodia, and the IAEA. He also suggested the IAEA continue enhancing support for and technical cooperation with Vietnam in this field. Vietnam was elected as a member of the IAEA Board of Governors in September 2021 for the 2021-2023 term. The IAEA Board of Governors holds four sessions each year in March, June, September, and November, with the annual IAEA General Conference in September./.

HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam Register (VR) under the Ministry of Transport (MoT) has recommended car owners check the validation times of their vehicles’ registration certificates and stamps via the website https://giahanxcg.vr.org.vn and only do so when their registration is close to expiring. The move was made in response to repeated overload on the VR website in recent days. The VR website recorded up to 3.6 million visits to check the validation time certifications as of 4.30pm on June 3, or 2.57 times higher than the 1.4 million cars entitled to automatic registration expiry extension. The issuance is expected to ensure convenience for people and enterprises when applying for registration certificates and stamps and moving on roads, and also prevent congestion at registration centres. However, the validation time certificates cannot be used to replace the registration certificates and stamps, the VR added.

HÀ NỘI — Ship 20 of the Naval Region 3’s Brigade 172 anchored in Makassar, Sulawesi, Indonesia, on Sunday to participate in the 4th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK), according to the Quân Đội Nhân Dân (People's Army) newspaper. The military exercise held by the Indonesian Navy will last until June 8, with the working delegation of the Viêt Nam People’s Navy (VPN) aboard the vessel expected to partake in a street parade, a multilateral drill at sea, and music-sport-food exchanges within its course. Earlier, Ship 20 – a Pohang-class corvette received from the Republic of Korea Navy in October 2018 – came to Malaysia’s Langkawi to attend the 16th International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023 from May 23-28. The trip, made at the invitation of Malaysian and Indonesian navies, aims to consolidate and strengthen the good friendship and cooperation between the Việt Nam People’s Army and the VPN and those of other countries. Animal feed and raw materials from Argentina to Vietnam accounted for 25.8% of the total market shares, followed by India (18.3%) and the US (15.2%). Compared to the same period last year, the imports from the three countries increased by 3.9%, 130%, and 28.3%, respectively. MARD recommends that to reduce reliance on imported animal feed, farmers in localities should make use of available domestic raw materials, produce animal feed by themselves to reduce cost, and find sources of raw materials for animal feed production. Ministries and agencies were asked to tighten control over the import of meat and by-products, support importers to reduce the costs of products, as well as create favourable conditions for the development of material zones for animal feed production./.
