We are working towards expanding an already resilient supply chain that adheres to the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability," she said. Airbus is a leading supplier in Việt Nam’s aviation sector, with nearly 220 Airbus aircraft currently in the fleets of local carriers and another 110 on order for future delivery. The expansion of Airbus' supply chain in Việt Nam augurs well for the nation's economic development.

The two sides will focus on strengthening cooperation in agriculture and rural development, accelerating customs clearance of agro-fishery goods, promoting the development of trade and investment in agricultural and aquatic products, and forming a mechanism to serve businesses and the market. Specifically, they will increase the exchange of and cooperation in modern farming and breeding techiques, while boosting collaboration in researching, carrying out and encouraging the use of agricultural machinery and equipment. Besides, human resources training, and the exchange and cooperation between agricultural universities and related vocational training schools are encouraged.

HÀ NỘI — Starbucks Việt Nam celebrated its 10-year journey in Việt Nam with a grand opening of their 100th store in Lotte Mall West Lake in Hà Nội on Saturday. In February 2013, Starbucks marked its footprint in Việt Nam by opening its first store in HCM City. “Over the past 10 years, Starbucks Vietnam has grown from strength to strength, achieving significant milestones that have helped cement our position as a leading brand in the Vietnamese market,” said general manager of Starbucks Vietnam, Patricia Marques. This marks the second such initiative in Việt Nam, following the introduction of Starbucks Reserve™ Vietnam Đà Lạt in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2020. This shows, despite certain challenges, Việt Nam is still regarded as a "fertile land" for international brands in the F&B sector.

The Danish toy company, LEGO, recently celebrated its planting of 50,000 trees at its factory in Binh Duong province, Vietnam. The factory which has been under construction since November last year has made significant progress. It is the first carbon-neutral plant of the company, using electricity from the rooftop solar cell panels and the nearby solar farm. Currently, there are more than 2,000 construction workers building the plant and the number would double by the end of 2023, according to the Vietnam News. The LEGO factory in Binh Duong is expected to be ready to operate in the second half of 2024.

As we pass the mid-way point of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda), we are at a momentous and critical juncture. Young women remain worse off than young men, being roughly two-thirds as likely to be employed. Our world is characterised by the rapid growth in technology, digital transformation, and innovation. At the same time, our pursuit of digital transformation and innovation should not push us towards global homogeneity.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is considered a gateway for Canadian companies that want to develop in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. Themed "Việt Nam, the door to the Indo-Pacific for Quebec businesses", the seminar has attracted the interest of many businesses and entrepreneurs in Canada's province because it offers an opportunity to reassess the level of awareness and utilisation of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) by Canadian businesses after five years of implementation. In his opening remarks, Director General Chartier emphasised Quebec's special cooperative relationship with Việt Nam. Việt Nam is currently Canada's largest trading partner in the ASEAN region and a leading destination for Canadian goods exported to ASEAN, Chartier said. At the seminar, Việt Namese Trade Counsellor in Canada, Trần Thu Quỳnh, mentioned that the Vietnamese Government has been promoting investment in infrastructure to strengthen the connection between Việt Nam and Canada in the supply chain.

This business has attempted to replace coal-fuelled energy in its production process with bio resources and ensure that 50% of its fabric is renewable fibre. The central banks have agreed in principle to promote cross-border payment using methods including QR codes – a fast payment, among others. To date, there are nine bilateral QR code payment links in operation among ASEAN countries, with 10 more links in development. In this capacity, the SBV has been working together with the Thai central bank to promote cross-border payment connectivity within the region. Cross-border payment is to play an important role in promoting commercial and tourism activities in the future, according to economists and industry experts. A cross-border payment system will also allow countries to reduce their reliance on foreign currencies, especially for local businesses.
