LOADING ERROR LOADINGWASHINGTON – Liam Conejo Ramos, the pre-school student who ICE agents in Minneapolis nabbed last week and shipped off to a Texas detention facility with his dad, is in poor health now, according to his school’s superintendent. Zena Stenvik, the superintendent for Ramos’ Columbia Heights public school district, told HuffPost that she spoke to the 5-year-old’s mother on Tuesday. Ramos’ mother addressed his deteriorating health earlier this week: “Liam is getting sick because the food they receive is not of good quality,” she told MPR News on Monday. Ramos and his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, are being held at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas. “His dad said he hasn’t been himself and he’s been sleeping a lot, because he’s been depressed and sad,” said Castro.

So you have all of these ideas floating around about: We’re past the world of the Cold War, we’re past, the world of the Berlin Wall. And we’re now in a new world where it is going to be possible to rebuild politics around market competition. Instead, you just focus on being the most competitive market that you absolutely can be. And we see this entire plumbing for this new global economy becoming established. And the United States, which actually has been doing this in a much quieter and perhaps less threatening way to many countries, at least for decades, is, in fact, the country that is pushing this the hardest.

San José Mayor Matt Mahan announced he is running for California governor Thursday, pitching himself as a pragmatic Democrat who would prioritize state residents’ quality of life over the principled progressivism that has become entrenched in California politics — including on crime, homelessness, housing and affordability. “I have not heard the field embrace the kinds of solutions that I don’t think we need, I know we need, as the mayor of the largest city in Northern California,” Mahan said. “Matt Mahan is a person of integrity who has made great progress on housing in San José, cost of living, and public safety,” Khanna said in a statement to The Times. Mahan also pushed through a plan in San José to arrest people on the street who repeatedly decline offers of shelter, which some progressives lambasted as inhumane. AdvertisementAssemblymember Alex Lee (D-San José), chair of the Legislative Progressive Caucus, said he also would prefer Mahan focus on San José, especially given the “very big year” ahead as the region hosts several major sporting events.

The Games will be one of the most complex security operations Italy has had to manage, with the event split between two main hubs, Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, with additional events held elsewhere across the north. The U.S. delegation will be led by U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In that vein, the U.S. State Department said on Tuesday that several federal agencies, including ICE, would help protect the visiting Americans, as they have at past Olympics. Emanuele Ingria, a human resources worker from Milan, told Reuters he was “very worried” by the prospect of ICE agents operating in Italy.
To start, a "digital detox” is not clearly defined. A detox can be as little as restricting the time you spend on a digital device, to a complete abstention from the internet. Halfway through the day, some participants started to fling insults at the entire digital detox idea in the first place. How to do a digital detox (and why you should try it). Digital detox.
I know a lot of it is because we are Notre Dame Football fans, but it really feels like the majority of the college football conversation over the past week is the absolute unhinged reaction to what the college football playoff will look like next season. Notre Dame hand picks the easiest schedule in CFB every year. Notre Dame is always overrated. I think the thing most people are really upset about isn’t even Notre Dame in itself. Personally, I always try to stay away from saying some of the cheesy stuff that flows out of the mouths of Notre Dame fans, but there’s no other real way to explain it sometimes.
