Leading Democrats have rolled out a new and unvarnished message — that the U.S. Department of Justice cannot be trusted. Also Friday, Justice Department officials released more documents from the Epstein files — a trove of records related to the sexual abuse of minors by the late, disgraced billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein. The latter was also something Garcia took issue with Friday, slamming the Justice Department for continuing to withhold some of the files. Kousser, the politics professor, noted that this is not the first time that concerns about partisanship within the Justice Department have been voiced. He said similar concerns were raised by many Republicans when the Justice Department was prosecuting Trump during the Biden administration.

Photographs appearing to show former Prince Andrew on all fours, leaning over a woman or girl lying on the floor, emerged in the latest release of Epstein files from the US Department of Justice on Friday. The latest Epstein documents also contain an email exchange between Epstein and Mountbatten-Windsor from August 2010 in which the disgraced financier invites the royal to meet a “friend” for dinner in London. Mountbatten-Windsor replies he would be “delighted to see her” and tells Epstein to give her his contact details. More than a month later, in another set of emails, Epstein and Mountbatten-Windsor make plans to meet in London.

The jurors in Las Vegas found Chasing Horse guilty of 13 of the 21 charges he faced. He was acquitted of some sexual assault charges when the main victim was older and lived with him and his other companions. William Rowles, the Clark County chief deputy district attorney, thanked the women who had accused Chasing Horse of assault for testifying. “I just hope that the people who came forward over the years and made complaints against Nathan Chasing Horse can find some peace in this,” he said. He questioned the main accuser’s credibility, calling her a “scorned woman.”Prosecutors said sexual assault cases rarely have eyewitnesses and often happen behind closed doors.

Carmel, Indiana (CNN) — Marla Ailor attended President Donald Trump’s inauguration last year with her family, and remembered thinking it was a long day. The film wasn’t a hit in every city on its opening day. One person said that “it’s like if Victoria Beckham became first lady.”Siblings Daniel and Elise Fairweather both disliked the film, even though Daniel — who called it “tone-deaf” — said he likes Melania Trump herself. “If I had a daughter, I’d want her to be just like her.”After seeing the documentary, Eike told CNN that she’d been struck by the same thing Ailor in Indiana had mentioned. Strahm said she wanted to see the film on its opening day to show her support.
