The Athletic has had two articles in the past five months which describe Ohio State as “the most recession-proof program in college football” and explain why that is the case. Below is a fascinating chart that was published in the first article as well as a link to the most recent one. I guess the one surprise for me in the chart was the omission of LSU but I guess that has to do with the criteria which are built around the overall rankings since 1951. Obviously LSU would be high on the list if we were looking at just the past quarter century. 6Georgia 57.8% 32.6% 13AP poll data via College Poll Archive; losing seasons via StatheadBy the way, there is some very interesting analysis by another B1G coach on the strengths and weaknesses of this year’s squad vs last year’s in the article just published:https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6927426/2025/12/30/ohio-state-college-f...

Feeling hopeful can be anything from lifting your mood, to giving you something to focus on, or something to look forward to in the future. They add: “You may find that you feel more comfortable talking things through while walking”Pause and reflect.

Yvette Nicole Brown is speaking out ahead of the release of CNN’s documentary on Chevy Chase, I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not, which reopens old wounds from the set of NBC’s Community involving allegations of racist slurs and harassment. According to the documentary, Chase felt ostracized by the tight-knit cast, which besides Brown included breakout stars like Donald Glover, Alison Brie and Joel McHale. An argument over the appropriateness of the scene between Chase and Brown allegedly included an utterance of the N-word by Chase, which led to Brown storming off the set. Chase’s wife, Jayni Chase, also says Chase was drinking heavily at that time and showing up to work drunk. Brown and Chase did not respond to THR’s request for comment.

Guinea's junta chief Mamady Doumbouya, who had pledged not to run for office after seizing power four years ago, has been elected president after securing a sweeping majority of the vote, according to initial results by the country's election commission published on Tuesday. He secured 86.72 percent of the first-round vote, according to the General Directorate of Elections, well over the threshold that would trigger a runoff vote. In September 2021, Doumbouya led a coup to topple Guinea's first freely elected president, Alpha Conde. In late September, Guineans approved a new constitution in a referendum that permitted junta members to run for office, paving the way for Doumbouya's candidacy. Former president Conde, whom Doumbouya overthrew in 2021, and ex-prime minister Sidya Toure, both of whom also live in exile, are over the maximum age limit of 80.bur-mrb/kjm/jhb/tc/abs/rlp
