Anxious observers are left to interpret signals from Paramount's management of CBS News for what it could mean at CNN. President Trump hasn't been shy in his criticism of CNNCNN originated the concept of 24-hour cable news when Ted Turner started it 45 years ago. Only two weeks ago, Cooper decided to leave “60 Minutes,” where he had a job share with CNN, and now he might find himself working with Weiss again. A plea to maintain independence“Since its founding by Ted Turner in 1980, CNN has provided news that viewers can trust," said Tom Johnson, former network president in the 1990s. “60 Minutes,” for example, has continued to do tough stories about administration policies.

“I’m really impressed with it, it’s a total game changer for small kitchens, apartments, and even outdoor cooking. The larger caliber design pulls in smoke and grease efficiently, and the 3-speed fan lets me adjust airflow depending on what I’m cooking, all while staying surprisingly low-noise. Whether you’re cooking indoors, hosting a hot pot night, or grilling outdoors, this portable kitchen hood does an excellent job keeping odors and smoke under control. Definitely a smart buy for anyone without a built-in range hood.” — ZS“I was genuinely skeptical about how effective a portable range hood could actually be, but this little desktop unit has been a total game-changer for my tiny apartment kitchen where the regular ventilation is almost nonexistent, especially when I try to cook anything that generates real heat or smoke. It pulls in smoke and food smells fast, especially when I cook hot pot or fry food.

The Dodgers won 93 games. One week into spring training, the Dodgers are the only undefeated team. Reality check: The Dodgers are not going to win every game, yet they play in a market where everybody expects them to win every game. It is one of baseball's eternal verities that wins and losses in spring training do not matter. So, to the point: It does not matter that the Dodgers are undefeated in spring training, and they'll probably win somewhere around 100 games.

The commander told Trump that Slover should receive the Medal of Honor for his actions, according to an official familiar with the matter. Trump was quickly convinced and signaled to the team he was going to do just that, two senior White House officials told CNN. However, it wasn’t clear until Tuesday, the day Trump was delivering his address, whether the White House could complete the process in time. “The White House and the Pentagon were proud to work expeditiously at the President’s direction to ensure this great American hero received the award he most certainly deserves,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told CNN. On January 3, he was flying an MH-47 — the Special Operations variant of the CH-47 Chinook helicopter — during the operation in Venezuela, dubbed Operation Absolute Resolve.

He wrote on Truth Social that most agencies must immediately stop using Anthropic’s AI but gave the Pentagon a six-month period to phase out the technology that is already embedded in military platforms. The president’s decision was preceded by hours of top Trump appointees from the Pentagon and the State Department taking to social media to criticize Anthropic, but their complaints posed contradictions. Amodei once worked for OpenAI before he and other OpenAI leaders quit to form Anthropic in 2021.

I just knew that my value to this franchise was bigger than what had been offered,” Campbell told the morning show. The seventh installment is expected to open to a franchise-high $45 million to $50 million in North America this weekend, according to Variety. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega led the sixth movie in lieu of Campbell, both of whom subsequently left the franchise in 2023. Matthew Lillard, who starred opposite Campbell, tweeted that the decision was “straight up sexism.”“When I spoke out about it, it wasn’t really to sort of rally everybody,” Campbell said.

Now, he’s stepping forward to become a rare whistleblower on the Chinese system, exposing closely guarded secrets about how China spies on its citizens at home and abroad – including in the US. “America on the one hand repeatedly disseminates false information about so-called Chinese spies, and yet on the other hand openly declares it wants to launch large scale espionage activities against China,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said in January 2024. As a Hui Muslim, a mostly Chinese-speaking minority, he was tasked with surveilling religious groups for much of his career, including Christians and his fellow Muslims. When this policy was later expanded across the country, he said he regretted ever starting the project – because it would become a “shackle” for religious groups. Paul Scott holds up a protest sign against gas-powered vehicles and President Trump at the intersection of 4th Street and Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica. President Trump had been back in office only a few weeks last year when Paul Scott decided he had heard enough. He heard the president’s cry to “drill baby drill” for more petroleum, watched big oil interests dump massive financial support behind the Republican and heard him bad-mouthing electric vehicles. So he made a placard and walked a couple of blocks and began a one-man protest against Trump and the petroleum industry. Advertisement“Buying gas and gas-powered cars needs to stop for political reasons, because Big Oil poured hundreds of millions into each of Trump’s campaigns,” Scott said in an interview.

Among Trump voters, 71 percent were Christians and about 60 percent were White Christians. Meanwhile, supporters of Kamala Harris were almost evenly split between Christians and the nonreligious (42 percent versus 45 percent). When the average American thinks about the political leanings of the average Christian, it’s more than likely that they conjure up a Trump supporter. In fact, just a few decades ago the most prominent religious group in America was not evangelicals or Roman Catholics. Instead, it was the Protestant mainline, a collection of denominations that defined the center of American political, religious, and cultural life.
