In addition to measures of GenAI use frequency, motivations for GenAI use, and GenAI experiences, we collected a screening questionnaire assessing psychosis risk. In this study, we examine cross-sectional relationships of GenAI variables to symptoms indicating elevated psychosis risk. Second, we sought to characterize motivations for and types of GenAI use by examining associations with psychosis risk symptoms. For analyses that require identifying a subset of participants at elevated risk, we follow a provisional cutoff of 20 used in prior work in both clinical [ ] and online settings [ ] to generate “elevated risk” (PQ-B Distress Total ≥20) and “low risk” (PQ-B Distress Total <20).
