President Biden and Vice President Harris will meet with national security officials in the White House Situation Room on Monday, as Iran reiterates its intention to punish Israel for the apparent assassination of top Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Although Israel has not acknowledged the strike in Iran, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to seek revenge against Israel after Haniyeh’s death. The call was arranged in a last-minute effort to urge Iran and Hezbollah to limit their attacks as much as possible to prevent an all-out war, Axios added. Haniyeh’s death followed an already tense week in the region, after Israel killed Fuad Shukr, the top military leader of the Iranian-backed Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon’s capital of Beirut. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a Cabinet meeting Sunday that his nation is already in a “multifront war” with Iran and its proxies.

All of us love the idea of the artist alone: in her studio, painting; at her desk, writing; in her atelier, draping. But the truth is that most art is more of a group effort than a solo endeavor. A dress might begin with a designer’s sketch, but making it real takes a staff of many — tailors, sewers, embellishers, the model upon whom it’s fit (and refit and refit). The majority will never be publicly credited or recognized, but the person to whom the work is attributed knows better: Making anything requires many hands. Our feature “Everyone Who Made This Happen” reveals just how many people it takes to create something.

The last time we heard about the second human patient undergoing a Neuralink brain implant, the story was that they had to be canceled for the surgery due to the discovery of unforeseen medical issues. However, it appears Neuralink found the right applicant as Elon Musk has revealed during an interview the company has successfully implanted its second Brain-Computer-Interface (BCI) into a human patient. During the interview, Musk revealed the surgery with the second patient went "extremely well" and the implanted BCI is "working very well." "I don't see what could prevent him from achieving the double at the World Championships in Zurich on a course that suits him," Merckx told Dernière Heure/Les Sports. The UK has cautioned its troops over risks posed by Russian spies using drones to monitor military bases, particularly those hosting training for Ukrainian troops as part of the British-led Operation Interflex. As reported by The Times, the UK’s Field Army Threat Handbook, published in October 2023, includes warnings against drones used by Russian intelligence to spy on Ukrainian troops taking part in training in the UK. “The training of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] remains of significant intelligence interest to Hostile Foreign Intelligence Services and the national press,” the handbook reads. The prime minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, has resigned and left the country amid some of the worst violence since the birth of the south Asian country more than 50 years ago. The country's army chief, Waker-Uz-Zaman, announced he was assuming control at 'a critical time for our country' and would establish an interim government. Hasina, who has ruled Bangladesh since 2009, fled by helicopter shortly after protesters had stormed her residence in the capital, Dhaka. The protests began over a quota system that was said to disproportionately allocate government jobs to the descendants of freedom fighters from the 1971 independence war. The government’s harsh crackdown on the protests has led to hundreds of deaths, which continued despite the supreme court overturning the quota law.
