Kay Mason Bilig, Conservative leader, has been criticised following her extraordinary speech on Tuesday where she branded local government secretary Steve Reed a ‘two-faced bully’ and a ‘bastard’. Norfolk County Council County HallMs Mason Billig claimed he had earlier ‘threatened’ to restrict the county’s access to funding and to withhold certain powers from the proposed devolved authorities unless she agreed to support a delay in the elections. A source at the department said: “It’s both baffling and shocking that a council leader would launch such vile abuse and totally false accusations at a Secretary of State she has, by her own admission, never met or spoken to. That all eyes turned toward Bremer’s subsequent visit to J Medical on Wednesday morning. After undergoing tests at J Medical, Juventus and Bremer can both breathe a massive sigh of relief because those scans revealed no major damage the Brazilian’s thigh in his right leg. No lesions, no pulled muscles, nothing that will cause him to suddenly be out until after the March international break. Bremer will now, according to those same reports, be monitored on a day-to-day basis as he looks to get back on the field as soon as possible. Like, you know, the same kind of bad experience as Juve’s defensive level is when Bremer is off the field or just flat-out tired as he’s looked in recent games.

Career employees who staffed Internet Freedom resigned or were sacked in 2025 as part of larger reductions. It’s hard to deny it has been,” said one digital rights expert based in Europe who has worked on a number of projects for Internet Freedom. To report this story, the Guardian spoke to 10 people with knowledge of Internet Freedom, including six of its grantees, and reviewed documents related to its operations and budget. Politicians and experts have thrown their weight behind calls for suicides to be investigated as potential homicides in cases where a person who takes their own life has been affected by domestic abuse. They also called for better training for police so that officers understand the full impact of domestic abuse, and move away from “a tickbox approach” to suicides. Earlier this week, the Guardian revealed it was likely that the number of suicides linked to domestic abuse were being vastly underreported, with up to 1,500 victims each year. “I agree with the call that the police must fully investigate all suicides where domestic abuse is suspected, so that perpetrators can be held to account for their role. There is support across the political spectrum for increasing the number of prosecutions in such cases, and the government has dedicated funding to improving data on lives lost to domestic abuse, including by suicide.
