President William Ruto has faced criticism for nominating six Cabinet secretaries from his first administration for reappointment. During a special reunion episode of the iconic Crossfire Podcast, hosted by Radio Africa Group's founding Chief Executive Officer Patrick Quarcoo, guests expressed their disappointment with the nominations. The panel included former Cabinet minister Mukhisa Kituyi, lawyer Judy Thongori, Mathare Social Justice Centre activist and scholar Wanjira Wanjiru, and politician Tony Gachoka. Wanjiru, 23, remarked that the President seems unwilling to heed Kenyans' calls for a nation free from corruption and with improved systems. Thongori noted that the President had an opportunity to make a difference but appears not to have taken full advantage of it.
