The main Opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) last weekend held a residential workshop for its parliamentary group at a hotel in Kalutara. Around 40 SJB MPs attended the workshop, and the absence of several senior SJB MPs had been criticised by several MPs who had attended the meetings. Several topics were discussed during the workshop. Further, a decision was taken to hold discussions with all small political parties to muster their support for the programme to formulate an alternative government. The new development has pushed the official death toll from the virus outbreak in the country to 13,841. The latest victims include 10 males and 10 females, the Department of Government Information said. According to official data, 06 deaths were reported among elderly people aged above 60 years. In addition, 14 people aged between 30-59 years have also fallen victim to the virus infection.
