While investment may be dwindling, efforts of tech-driven and innovation oriented individuals to continue disrupting the technology landscape have not stopped. However, the tech landscape has definitely changed, and even taken quite a hit in the last two years. This is perhaps why even telcos are reconsidering their role in the larger scheme of things, thinking beyond mobile operation services and network provision. A decade and a half ago, most telcos in the country were hyper-focused on tapping into digital financing services, the fruits of which are evident in Telenor’s EasyPaisa and Jazz’s Jazzcash. Now, the time to diversify has arrived once again, and the cool new thing for telcos to get into are accelerators.

Modi relied heavily on Hindu voters, believing they would vote for him exclusively. Yet, in these elections, Hindu voters have disfigured the face of the political leader who claimed to be their deity. From his voters, Modi had sought an anti-Muslim mandate. He instilled fear by claiming that the opposition party Congress would seize their properties and resources and distribute them among Muslims. Moreover, young people campaigned to remove this government, and the common Indian voter has surely driven the first nail into Modi’s coffin by thwarting the BJP’s plan to win 400 seats.

NEW DELHI - Narendra Modi was sworn in as India’s prime minister on Sunday for a third term, after a shock poll setback that will test his ability to ensure policy certainty in a coalition government in the world’s most populous nation. “Honoured to serve Bharat,” Modi posted on X, minutes before he was sworn in, referring to India’s name in Indian languages. Supporters cheered, clapped and chanted “Modi, Modi” as the name of the 73-year old leader, dressed in a white kurta tunic and blue half jacket, was called to take his oath. Modi was followed by senior ministers in the previous government: Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and Piyush Goyal, among others. Slovenia, a country in central Europe, recognized Palestine earlier this week, following the actions of Norway, Spain, and Ireland last month. While the Palestinian people must find some comfort in such international support, the pressing issue of ending Israel’s extermination campaign still needs to be addressed. The most recent horror was the Israeli attack on a United Nations school, which claimed almost forty lives. The international community must eventually hold Israel and its supporters responsible for the deadly rampage that Gaza has endured.
