MUZAFFARABAD – Indian Independence day was marked as Black day while protest rallies and demonstrations were organized at capital of AJK including other districts under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking on the occasion, speakers said that India has no moral justification to celebrate the Independence Day while usurping the freedom of the Kashmiri people. They maintained that Kashmiri people have given referendum against India by expressing anger on her independence day. They voiced that Kashmiri people have given a referendum against India by completely rejecting the brutal actions of August 5, 2019 and India’s Independence Day on August 15. The speakers termed the campaign of waving Indian flag at every house under the shadow of guns as a cowardly act and said that Indian flag has no recognition and importance except as a foreign usurping force.

Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar extended felicitations on behalf of the armed forces of Pakistan on the diamond jubilee celebrations of Independence Day. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) also joined the nation in the celebrations. He expressed these views at an event in Muzaffarabad to mark the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.

While Jinnah got convinced that a Hindu-dominated India would not be a comfortable place for the minority Muslim population, Azad was steadfast in the belief that a united India, even after the British had left, would benefit the Muslim population. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Shabbir Ahmad Shah in their statements said India has no right to celebrate its Independence Day in IIOJK as it is holding the territory against the will of the Kashmiri people.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday said martyrs were pride of the nation and their sacrifices would never go in vain. “Our martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the right path,” she said while offering her condolence to the family of Shaheed Major Talha Mannan, who embraced martyrdom in Balochistan during the helicopter crash. Marriyum, accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to the residence of Shaheed Major Talha Mannan, met his (Talha) mother and offered “Fateha” for the departed soul. She sympathized with Major Talha mother and paid tribute to him for rendering great sacrifice for the country.
