Share:LAHORE - Four additional IGs belonging to grade 21 of Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) have been made OSDs by the government of Punjab, Ghulam Rasool Za­hid, who became the acting IG on Wednesday for a brief period of time, is also included among the OSDs. The Punjab government has removed four senior police officers from important positions with direction to report to S&GAD and made them OSDs with immediate effect. Among the officers who have been made OSDs are Additional IG Investigation (PSP) Ghulam Ra­sool Zahid (BS-21), Additional IG Establishment (PSP) BA Nasir (BS-21), Additional IG South Pun­jab (PSP) Ehsan Sadiq (BS-21) and Additional IG Welfare (PSP) Mohammad Farooq Mazhar (BS-21) are included.The Punjab Government has is­sued a formal notification in this regard. According to the official notification, Secretary to Government of the Punjab, Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab, Ehsan Bhutta (BS-20) has been transferred and posted as Member of the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team Punjab (CMIT), against a vacant post. Special Secretary Local Government and Community Development Punjab, Musarat Jabeen has been transferred and posted on post vacated by Ehsan Bhutta, as Sec­retary to Government of the Punjab, Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab.

Constable Sajid Zaman, who was injured in an encounter in Mehran Town, Korangi Industrial Area, succumbed to to his injuries, while a head constable Manzoor was martyred in Zaman Town on Wednesday. The funeral prayers of the two police martyrs were offered at Garden Police Headquarters South. PPP leader Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Cheif of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, IG Ghulam Nabi Memon, DG Rangers Sindh Major General Azhar Waqas, Karachi Police Chief Javed Akhtar Odho, DIGs East, South, West, District SSPs, CPLC Chief, Rangers officials, relatives, friends, and local residents of the deceased attended the funeral prayers. IG Sindh expressed his condolences and sorrow to the heirs of the martyred police officers and paid tribute to them for their courage and bravery against criminals. This title bearing national golf championship became the scene of intense combat from December 15 to 18 as all past title holders of Pakistan champion title converged to Lahore Garrison for a fling at the majestic title again. Most of the established names were missing from the elite top positions and young players like Ahmed Baig and M Alamemerged as the golf champions of poise and adroitness. Ahmed Baig extraordinary golfing skills fetched him five birdies on holes 3, 5, 8, 16 and 18. A superbly organized championship by the team of Pakistan Golf Federation which brought to the fore new names.

Expecting IEA to evict TTP from the Afghan soil now is naiveté, for reasons previously explained; much that Kabul would badly want to extend control over the TTP enclave and ISIS areas of influence. Other elected office-bearers are AVM Tariq Mehmood Ghazi SI(M), Vice President, Khurram Khan, Vice President, Brig Sajid Akram SI(M) (Retd), Hony Secretary, Brig Zahid Hussain (Retd) Joint Secy and Brig Sohail Ishrat (Retd), Treasurer. The elected members of the executive committee are lady members Ayesha Fouzan, Attiya Anjum, Ayesha Hamid, Humera Khalid. The outgoing President Lt Gen Muhammed Hilal Hussain HI(M) (Retd) shared that some of his initiatives were a roaring success. Gen Qazi assured the House that initiatives taken by his predecessor were nice and ensured that those initiatives will be pursued to achieve desired results.

In an interview with an American media outlet, Bilawal underscored the need for a comprehensive approach to dealing with TTP saying that we have to cooperate with the Afghan Interim Government to halt TTP from carrying out further heinous attacks.

The foreign minister had said that instead of being punished for the 2002 massacre of over 2,000 Muslims in Gujarat, Modi was made the prime minister of India. He was banned from entering this country until he became prime minister. This is the prime minister of the RSS and the foreign minister of the RSS. In an interview with Bloomberg published today, the foreign minister defended his remarks, saying that he was “referring to historical reality".
