ABU DHABI: The Mother of the Nation Jiu-Jitsu Cup concluded in Abu Dhabi on Sunday with athletes from Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club the big winners in the adult and under-16 divisions. The event, held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City over the weekend, saw top-ranked female athletes from the UAE compete in the adult, under-18, under-16, and the newly introduced u-14 divisions. In the under-14 category, Al-Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, and Al-Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club emerged as the top-three academies respectively. In the under-18 category, Al-Wahda secured top position, with Baniyas and Al-Ain taking second and third places. Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Rask Police Headquarters in the southeastern region of Iran, which killed 11 Iranian officials and injured several others. On Friday, at least 11 Iranian police officers were killed in an attack overnight on a police station in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan. The attack was claimed by Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) group, in a brief statement on its Telegram channel. The end of the commercial dispute could also facilitate the takeover of KE by Shanghai Electric. KE has also submitted a plan for the generation of over 3,000 MW of electricity.

It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that elections are conducted in a terror-free environment. In an odd turn of events, bureaucrats were also assigned to assist the ECP in holding the 2018 elections that resulted in the PTI winning. Because we have already entered a constitutional limbo by holding elections after the deadline, we cannot allow this legal inertia to last indefinitely. The only way to address Pakistan’s numerous problems is through democratic continuity rather than ad hocism, even though elections won’t solve them all right away. It is therefore hoped that no more obstacles are put in the way of prompt, transparent, and fair elections, particularly now that the SC has clarified the situation.
