ABU DHABI: The Mother of the Nation Jiu-Jitsu Cup concluded in Abu Dhabi on Sunday with athletes from Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club the big winners in the adult and under-16 divisions. The event, held at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City over the weekend, saw top-ranked female athletes from the UAE compete in the adult, under-18, under-16, and the newly introduced u-14 divisions. In the under-14 category, Al-Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club, Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, and Al-Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club emerged as the top-three academies respectively. In the under-18 category, Al-Wahda secured top position, with Baniyas and Al-Ain taking second and third places. In the adult category, Baniyas won while Al-Wahda and Al-Ain came in second and third.

Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack at Rask Police Headquarters in the southeastern region of Iran, which killed 11 Iranian officials and injured several others. On Friday, at least 11 Iranian police officers were killed in an attack overnight on a police station in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan. The attack was claimed by Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice) group, in a brief statement on its Telegram channel. UNITED NATIONS - At the United Nations, Pakistan has expressed deep concerns over the possession and use of modern and sophisticated weapons by the terrorist group TTP. They acquire them from illicit arms markets or receive them from entities that want to destabilize a particular region or country. He said it is the responsibility of all the states and the UN to take measures to prevent illicit trade, transfer and diversion of these arms. He demanded an investigation into how the TTP acquired the sophisticated weapons being used against Pakistan’s border and other posts. The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet approved the signing of the Power Purchase Agency Agreement (PPAA), Interconnection Agreement (ICA), Tariff Differential Subsidy (TDS) Agreement, and Mediation Agreement. The end of the commercial dispute could also facilitate the takeover of KE by Shanghai Electric. KE has also submitted a plan for the generation of over 3,000 MW of electricity.
It is the responsibility of the state to ensure that elections are conducted in a terror-free environment. Though an overall challenging time for the country economically, the fortnight revision of petroleum prices has turned out to be a strategic approach where in accordance with exchange rate fluctuations and the international market, the gains are translated into price cuts of petroleum products. Additionally, the government’s adherence to the maximum permissible limit of Rs60 per litre for petroleum levy demonstrates a responsible fiscal approach.
