ISLAMABAD - The officials of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) took prompt action against underage motorcyclists and drivers and imposed fines on them under the campaign of Special Traffic education and enforcement, informed a police spokesman on Sunday. Following the directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the ITP launched a special traffic education and enforcement campaign in order to solve the traffic related problems faced by the citizens on roads, he added. He said that, campaign is underway against underage bikers, those involved in rash driving and violating traffic rules. Under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, zonal DSP’s are ensuring strict action against those violating traffic rules. Following the efforts of these measures, several underage motorcyclists and traffic rules violators were fined, while unregistered bikes were also impounded at different police stations.

ISLAMABAD - Scores of officers of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday have demanded the minister on interior to upgrade their scales/ grades pending for over 30 years. The FIA officers and officials included Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) Head Constables and Constables posted across the country have urged the Federal Minister of Interior to upgrade their posts, pending for over 30 years. Talking to media men, the FIA officers and officials said that despite performing high-risk duties, they have been denied upgradation, while officials in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and provinces have been upgraded by the government. They added a meeting scheduled on June 25, 2022, was delayed by the minister due to funding issues. The employees request upgradation using the existing FIA budget or issuance of orders for future implementation to remove pay scale discrepancies with other law enforcement agencies, they said.

HYDERABAD - The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in arranging funding for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in a raid conducted in the Jamshoro district. An official informed here on Saturday that the suspect Muhammad Zaman alias Adil had also received training about the use of weapons in Afghanistan. According to the official, Adil was responsible for arranging for transmitting funds to the TTP.

RAWALPINDI - Rawalpindi police, in an action against suspected drug peddlers and other lawbreakers here on Friday, arrested four accused besides recovering over three kg hashish and other items from their possession. According to a police spokesman, Rawat police held Abid for having 1160 grams hashish, and Airport police rounded up an accused, namely Sarfraz, with 1500 grams hashish. Kahuta police netted Zeeshan for possessing 600 grams of hashish, while Kalar Syedan police arrested a drug peddler, Nasir, with 550 grams of hashish. Separate cases have been registered against all accused while further investigations are underway. City Police Officer(CPO), Rawalpindi, had directed the police officers to accelerate ongoing operations against drug peddlers, bootleggers, and other lawbreakers, he added.
