In a session on Monday, the Senate unanimously approved a resolution unequivocally condemning the mob lynching incidents that occurred in Sargodha and Swat. The resolution demanded that both the federal and provincial governments ensure public safety for all, including vulnerable communities and minorities. I am shocked to see that PTI members in the National Assembly did not sign the resolution on the Swat mob lynching incident, which demanded an end to the weaponisation of religion and extremism. Read: National Assembly passes resolution condemning rising mob lynching incidentsWhile tabling the resolution, the senator read, “The House unequivocally condemns the recent mob lynching in Swat and Sargodha of persons accused of offences pertaining to religion. "The House, therefore, urges the Federal and Provincial Governments to ensure the safety and security of all persons living in Pakistan, including religious minorities and vulnerable communities.
