KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): Government-linked investment companies (GLICs) held about 45% of the shares in IJM Corp Bhd (KL:IJM) as at Jan 30, 2026, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF). It further noted that at present, none of the GLICs has a shareholding that constitutes a strategic controlling block over IJM, which is currently the target of Sunway Bhd’s (KL:SUNWAY) takeover offer. “The proposed transaction is in the form of a conditional voluntary takeover offer. On the investment decision integrity, the ministry said GLICs are professional financial institutions bound by strict governance standards and clear investment mandates. Regarding the ownership of strategic assets, the MOF said the government maintains direct control mechanisms over these assets.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): MMC Corp Bhd has announced the appointment of Datuk Nazrul Mansor as its new group chief executive officer (CEO) effective March 9, leading the flagship infrastructure group controlled by tycoon Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary, according to an internal memo sighted by The Edge. Nazrul served as group CEO of FGV Holdings Bhd from 2021 to 2024 before the plantation group was taken private by Felda in 2025. Prior to that, Nazrul was group CEO of Felcra Bhd from 2018 to 2021, a government-owned land development agency that manages agribusiness and plantation projects benefitting more than 112,000 rural participants. KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): The joint venture between Ann Joo Resources Bhd (KL:ANNJOO) and Transyear Sdn Bhd has secured a deal to sell a 60.1-acre industrial land in Gurun, Kedah, for RM117.81 million cash. The industrial plot is valued at RM45 per square foot, according to Ann Joo’s bourse filing. Ann Joo said in its bourse filing that it expects to receive RM65.4 million for its share of proceeds from the land sale. The steel manufacturer noted that the land sale is expected to enhance the group’s future cash flow and earnings visibility. Financially, Ann Joo had RM107.25 million in cash against RM1.1 billion in short-term and RM171.38 million in long-term borrowings as of Dec 31, 2025.
