KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): Government-linked investment companies (GLICs) held about 45% of the shares in IJM Corp Bhd (KL:IJM) as at Jan 30, 2026, according to the Ministry of Finance (MOF). It further noted that at present, none of the GLICs has a shareholding that constitutes a strategic controlling block over IJM, which is currently the target of Sunway Bhd’s (KL:SUNWAY) takeover offer. “The proposed transaction is in the form of a conditional voluntary takeover offer. On the investment decision integrity, the ministry said GLICs are professional financial institutions bound by strict governance standards and clear investment mandates. Regarding the ownership of strategic assets, the MOF said the government maintains direct control mechanisms over these assets.

JOHANNESBURG (March 11): Andrew Veitch left South Africa after being held up at gunpoint in his car. KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): PETRONAS said the elevated crude oil prices resulting from the US-Iran conflict are expected to produce some mixed outcomes for the company. "Higher crude oil prices may increase revenue from upstream production, but PETRONAS operates across the entire energy value chain. It also said that it operates with an explicit responsibility to support Malaysia’s domestic energy security, reliability and affordability. PETRONAS also pointed out that Malaysia’s domestic crude production has also declined steadily as mature fields naturally deplete. However, today, domestic crude production averages roughly 350,000 barrels per day.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): The implementation of the Women's Referral, Intervention, Support, Information and Advocacy (PRISMAnita) initiative, launched by the government on Tuesday, does not involve any additional financial allocation. Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the initiative, placed under the Women’s Development Department (JPW) at the state level, will be carried out by optimising existing resources. Nancy described PRISMAnita as an important one-stop centre that helps victims identify the appropriate channels for assistance. On Tuesday, the government launched the PRISMAnita initiative to improve access to support services for women, particularly in addressing family-related issues such as domestic violence. “Within the framework of the Madani government, we ensure that PRISMAnita does not operate in silos.

Laura Privatstiftung filed for insolvency in Innsbruck, deeming it didn’t have the means to meet its obligations to Mubadala, it said in a statement. The foundation was co-founded by Benko in 2006, and some of its units became deeply intertwined with the financing of his sprawling Signa real estate and retail empire. Mubadala pursued Laura Privatstiftung as well as other companies and trusts linked to Benko at the International Court of Arbitration. Rising interest rates and regulatory scrutiny of banks’ exposure to Signa pushed its largest holding companies into insolvency in 2023. Benko is being held in custody in Austria and has been found guilty of insolvency fraud.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): MMC Corp Bhd has announced the appointment of Datuk Nazrul Mansor as its new group chief executive officer (CEO) effective March 9, leading the flagship infrastructure group controlled by tycoon Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary, according to an internal memo sighted by The Edge. Nazrul served as group CEO of FGV Holdings Bhd from 2021 to 2024 before the plantation group was taken private by Felda in 2025. Prior to that, Nazrul was group CEO of Felcra Bhd from 2018 to 2021, a government-owned land development agency that manages agribusiness and plantation projects benefitting more than 112,000 rural participants. Earlier in his career, he served as group chief financial officer at Realmild Sdn Bhd in 2010 before joining independent power producer NUR Power Sdn Bhd as director of finance in 2013. Nazrul takes over the helm at the time MMC navigates its plan to list the port operating arm – MMC Port Holdings, which owns 70% of Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd, 100% of Penang Port Sdn Bhd, Johor Port Bhd and Northport (M) Bhd in Port Klang, as well as Tanjung Bruas Port Sdn Bhd in Melaka and Andaman Port in Kedah.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 11): The joint venture between Ann Joo Resources Bhd (KL:ANNJOO) and Transyear Sdn Bhd has secured a deal to sell a 60.1-acre industrial land in Gurun, Kedah, for RM117.81 million cash. The industrial plot is valued at RM45 per square foot, according to Ann Joo’s bourse filing. Ann Joo said in its bourse filing that it expects to receive RM65.4 million for its share of proceeds from the land sale. The steel manufacturer noted that the land sale is expected to enhance the group’s future cash flow and earnings visibility. Financially, Ann Joo had RM107.25 million in cash against RM1.1 billion in short-term and RM171.38 million in long-term borrowings as of Dec 31, 2025.

Ramanan. “Our goal is not only to ensure job opportunities but to empower our veterans to obtain dignified wages in line with their expertise and discipline. Ramanan described the MOU as a clear and operational framework ensuring all veterans have access to job opportunities and social security. Khaled said the collaboration between Perhebat, JHEV and PERKESO will further develop a comprehensive ecosystem that connects veterans strategically through career mapping that is based on the veteran’s locality and industry.
