The Super Eagles will hold their first training session on Tuesday (today) ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Libya. The session will hold at the practice pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo at 5pm. Only two players, Stanley Nwabali and Amas Obasogie arrived at the team’s Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Ikot Ekpene base on Monday. The Akwa Ibom Independent Electoral Commission had on Sunday declared APC candidate as the winner of Essien Udim LGA where the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, hails from. The Tripoli Criminal Court has issued a conviction against the former head of the Libyan diplomatic mission in Italy, Omar Tarhuni. Libya's Attorney General's Office said the court had examined the charges against the former diplomat, finding him guilty of abuse of power and obtaining illicit gains while in office. During the hearings, the Court assessed the evidence gathered that the former head of mission had used his position for personal gain, accumulating wealth illegally. Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Sunday sworn in the newly elected council chairmen of the 23 local government areas in Rivers State. The council chairmen took their oath office at the Executive Council Chamber of the Rivers Government House in Port Harcourt, State Capital.
