Despite some concessions from President William Ruto, who has tried to placate the demonstrators with various measures, the unrest persists. The Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR) reports at least 50 deaths and 413 injuries since the protests began. The government through relevant institutions is working towards ensuring key strategies and efforts aimed at empowering youth graduates are aligned with the demands of the current job market. This with an aim of producing highly skilled graduates who are not only employable but also capable of driving innovation and economic growth through self-employment, Prime Cabinet Musalia Mudavadi has said. He said the ability of the Kenyan youth in transforming the industrial sector should be a driving factor to attract investors rather than scare potential industrialists. Mudavadi urged the Kenyan youth ton exercise patience and a little tolerance saying the good talent within the Kenyan youth should be positively nurtured rather than being destroyed since once the economy bounce back to its feet, back home the bulk of the jobs that will be created will call for the Kenyan youth to actively take up the work. The plan is a significant roadmap towards aligning key strategies and efforts within the TVET institutional framework and the demands of the labor market from the TVET graduates.

The European Central Bank held borrowing costs steady Thursday, giving policymakers more time to assess progress on inflation after last month's first interest rate cut in five years. The pause was widely expected after ECB president Christine Lagarde said policymakers would need time to gather sufficient data before deciding the next move. The ECB is also hoping to see a slowdown in wage growth, which has been elevated as eurozone workers seek salary increases to compensate for higher living costs. "Stickiness in services prices, fast wage growth and a resilient labour market" all argued "against back-to-back rate reductions", said Unicredit's Valli. But recent data suggested the recovery "has lost steam" in the second quarter, said ING economist Carsten Brzeski, potentially strengthening the case for another rate cut to bolster economic activity.
