The Lions will play three Tests against world champions New Zealand in September 2027 in a historic moment for the women’s game that is the outcome of an extensive feasibility study. Warwick qualified as a solicitor at RPC in 2007, and left the firm to work in-house at Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) in 2011. She spent nearly13 years as deputy head of editorial legal services at ANL, which is known for its publications including the Daily Mail, MailOnline, Mail on Sunday, i, and the Metro. Warwick has handled claims brought by high-profile figures such as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Duke of Sussex v Associated Newspapers and Duchess of Sussex v Associated Newspapers, as well as Melania Trump, who sued ALN over claims in the Daily Mail that her modelling career had involved “services beyond simply modelling” in Melania Trump v Associated Newspapers Ltd. She also worked on the case of Lawrence & Ors v Associated Newspapers, in which the claimants alleged ALN publications collected their data through unlawful methods.

Date set for hearing into Premier League charges against Manchester CityBy Jamie Gardner, PA Chief Sports ReporterA date has been set for an independent commission to hear Premier League financial charges against Manchester City, the league’s chief executive Richard Masters has told British MPs. “There is a date set for that proceeding, unfortunately I can’t tell you when that is, but that is progressing.”City were charged with more than 100 rule breaches last year following an investigation which the Premier League said began in December 2018. Mayo councillors pass motion to stop cooperation with Government on housing refugeesJames CoxA motion has been passed by Mayo County Council calling on staff to stop cooperating with the Department of Integration when it comes to housing asylum seekers. Councillors want an "agreed strategy" put in place on the housing of international protection applicants. "I would hope that it's not just Mayo that the Government looks at, it's the entire country. "The last thing we need as a country is social discord amongst our people, be they residents or be they refugees into our country." The motion comes after a protest earlier this month in Ballinrobe, Co Mayo, outside a former hotel that was earmarked to accommodate 50 international protection applicants.

The matter is likely to come up for hearing before the bench comprising Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta. Since November last year, Goa’s two contempt petitions have been listed for hearing before the Apex Court, but are yet to come up for hearing. The Goa government had filed contempt petitions in 2018 and 2019 against the Karnataka government for illegally diverting Mhadei river water for its Kalasa and Bhandura nala project. Besides this, the three riparian States ie Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra have filed special leave petitions (SLP) challenging the Mhadei Water Disputes Tribunal’s award over allocation of water.

Ryanair to step up oversight of BoeingBy Neil Lancefield, PA Transport CorrespondentRyanair will deploy more engineers to oversee quality control at US factories building Boeing aircraft for the airline. Michael O’Leary, group chief executive at Ryanair, said the carrier has agreed to step up its activities at the manufacturer’s site in Seattle and Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, where fuselages are built. This comes after a Boeing 737 Max 9 operated by US-based Alaska Airlines suffered a mid-air blowout on January 5th. “Boeing are putting a lot of engineers on the line doing quality control, and we want to be seen as well to be investing in it. “Boeing are very welcoming of us putting in more engineers in Seattle.”Mr O’Leary expressed concern that the Alaska Airlines incident will lead to further delivery delays with Boeing aircraft.

Wind farms supplied 35% of electricity last yearMichael BoltonWind farms supplied 35 per cent of the State's energy in 2023, according to Wind Energy Ireland’s annual report. Irish wind farms saved approximately 4.2 million tonnes of carbon last year, roughly equivalent to the amount of carbon produced by 1.9 million cars. December saw the greatest monthly wind generation, with a total cost saving of €170 million. "The more wind we can get on the electricity grid, the less we rely on imported gas and the more we can cut our carbon emissions and keep that money at home," Wind Energy Ireland chief executive Noel Cunniffe said. "Our members can be proud of the role Irish wind farms are playing in supporting Irish electricity consumers and reducing our carbon emissions.
